SMALLRIG Light Weight Camera Cage Only for Sony A7R IV A9 II Camera - 2917

Well built, fits camera well at a reasonable price point. Lots of custom potential.

My usecase for this cage is probably a bit different than mosts since I only use it for photography and not video, and for that purpose, it's still been useful. The additional screw threads make it a basically giant L-bracket, and you have 4 extra spots you can use for a mounting strap. It also can offer some basic protection for your camera's body. And, for left-handers, it gives you an additional grip point.The biggest (and so far the only) drawback is that the C2 and C3 buttons are now partially covered. You can still reach them, but you now need to move your hand over to the front of the camera (see the last picture) rather than accessing them from the side. This is a relatively minor inconvenience, and after a while I'll probably not notice it that much -- but -- if you're a sports photographer or something and you need to change those settings quickly, this might bother you.

A Small rig cage is the very 1st thing I order after getting a new camera. Great Quality and perfect fit every time! Highly recommend!

I like it but I wish they made a cage to fit with the battery grip for the Sony A7RIV. They act like you can't shoot video with it

I really like this case it fits perfectly and it offers excellent protectionIt also adds more Grip to the camera which is excellent being that the camera is smallishIt also has a secondary cold shoe which is niceIt is a little harder to reach the C1 and C2 buttons but not super hard or anything just slightly harder.All ports and buttons are accessibleThe only drawback I have found (but it just may be me not knowing where/how it attached to the cage) is I can't seem to find where I should attach the neck strap on the top.

Love the enhanced grip this cage provides, not to mention the additional mount options and to a lessor degree, additional structural protection.
