Great value, works well on BMW's.
This creates the correct bubble fitting required for many European cars. It is almost the same process as a double flare. Make a few practice runs using scrap tubing, then you are good to go. I used this to repair the rotten sections of the brake lines on my E39. Zero leaks. I'm back on the road quickly, safely and economically.

BROKE on 1st flare. Flaring head sheared on very first flare.
I read the reviews. I knew this wasn't the best 37 degree flaring tool out there but I only needed to make 6 flares in soft 1/2" copper. The setup was easy. I deburred the end of the tube, reamed it to make sure it was round, and then deburred again to make sure it was good and burr free. I set the copper into the tool and clamped it down to the right depth. Very straight forward. I proceeded to turn the flaring head into the bore. About half way into the bore, the friction increased as expected. I kept turning as it had only begun to flare the tubing....and then SNAP!The flaring head sheared off in the tubing. SMH! the point of the flaring head was stuck in the tube and wouldn't come out. I packed the tool up and proceeded to contact amazon for a return. (Thank you Amazon.) Really unfortunate tool.... This is not a quality tool by any means. Performance Tool usually has solid tools that just work. Nothing fancy, but effective. This is NOT one of those! I ended up purchasing the Ridgid Model #377. It's 4X the price of this, but it flat out works and works great!

Flaring tool worked good
This flaring tool works great. You really need to file the end of tubing flat and deburr the inside of the tubing before flaring

Does the job
Needed flare tool to build 3/16" brake line for special project. Tool is not high quality but did the job on 4 to 5 flares. Have to be careful to tighten the clamp very tight before commencing the flare and clamp does leave a noticeable mark on the brake line, but otherwise the tool is functional.

There are cheap tools and then there are unusable tools like this
I get that this is a cheap tool, and you get what you pay for. This is beyond that. It is unuseable garbage that will be a waste of your money and time. Run.On the tool I received, the finish was horrible, but even worse it doesn't work. The 3/8 slot won't even fit on a 3/8 tube that works with other tools and fittings. before you can even get to the point of trying to put a flare on the tube, it crushes and mangles the tube.

Decent tool for low price, could be much better clamp though.
apparently this is one of the only 37degree flaring tool kits available for a reasonable price, but unfortunately it's very low quality, and I don't see it lasting too long, especially the clampI have the 45degree one from HF and its MUCH higher quality than this, for far less price, so.....at least it got the job done
