I bought this to use to check the water I consume when I am out and about, and I find this to be especially useful when travelling. It's very easy to use, and I like to know the purity of the water I am consuming. This tool does the trick. Within just a couple of seconds I can easily know if I am comfortable with drinking the water or need to find water somewhere else. This eliminates all guessing and I carry it with me wherever I go.

I was totally satisfied with this purchase. We had a new Osmosis water system put in and I ordered the meter to make sure it was working correctly. The meter showed the TDS was over 400 which is pretty bad and the Osmosis system wasn't working correctly. We were then able to get the system fixed and the TDS meter now shows around 70 which is where it should be. Very easy to use and the included case was a plus.

The media could not be loaded.  I used it to measure water from my Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System. I did not show on the video but the water from my public utility company came out to be around 160 to 180ppm. I also used it to measure Kirkland purified water from Costco and it came out to be around 20 to 22 ppm. Looks durable too.

Update: Either I have a bad one or these on don't work. I compared to a test strip and the strip shows "very low". Before installing the softener, TDS initially read my water at 473 PPM. After the install, I made several tests and the results were the same. I am returning the meter. The attached picture shows immediately before install a reading distilled of water at 15 PPM, city water at 452, and after install reading of 754. I give up and will return.Original review:I read a lot of Q&A's and ratings; I wanted an exact number, not guesswork with a colored tab. This tester is well built, nice case to keep it clean and protected. I checked our city water (473ppm), bottled water (4ppm), rain water (44ppm), and pool water (640ppm). If you want a GPG reading, just divide by 17.1. No guesswork. Now, on to installing a water softener, and I have a nice tool for periodic testing. I am impressed with this company for creating an excellent product at a great price. I do not have any relationship with this company; I'm a retired old coot in central Texas.

If you are checking to see if your hard water/soft water and RO water are containing any TDS (Total Disolved solids) this is the tool

Item as described. Fast ship. The website has more information than the packet enclosed, but that is just par for the course. The device is calibrated at the factory and works well, and even comes in a protective case, which is excellent. Thank you for the competitive pricing--I think it's the best value for my money on Amazon for similar tools.

I love this meter it's addictive you want to use it everywhere I used to it at work to to test the water filtration systems and found out that one of the systems was not functioning properly and it already started making people sick the water tested worse than the tap water (over 800)

Awesone product. Measures ppm for which it was purchased and even gives temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius as promised.When using, will compare to distilled water which should be at 000 ppm just to verify calibration.Easy hold button once reading registers., Awesome product. Even has instructions and a very nice carrying case.
