If you like Beauty & the Beast erotica, but set in modern Italy, you'll like this scorcher!
Overall, I lapped this book up and went on to buy the other two and watch the Netflix movies (which are beautifully made and scorching hot!) I do think this book got off to a bit of a rough start so I was slow to get into it. The writing was a little underdeveloped and shallow at first as the author was building the world and introducing the characters, but after the first few chapters, I feel like the writer hit her stride and found a good rhythm. So if you're feeling the same way, just stick to it. I really enjoyed the banter and bickering between the main characters and of course, it was spicy like I likey!I'm also a fan of how she showed Massimo's weaknesses and vulnerabilities when, to everyone else he was supposed to be all brooding strength and killer decisive, to her, he was a puddle she could splash in. That Laura made him go a little crazy, literally, was fun to read, how she tested him so much, and how much he pretended to not enjoy it. I applauded that story element, I like to think I would have done that too just to piss him off.And yes, people complain about the Stockholm Syndrome-eque story line, but let's be real, either you came here for a hot, dark romantic saga, or it's not your thing, which is fine. So don't clutch your pearls when (spoiler alert!) Laura learns to love the man she's been forced to see when he opens up to her and she gives an inch to him. While on the surface it's a Beauty & the Beast sort of set up, she's got her own dark emotional/commitment issues too, so they're evenly matched in their shared dysfunctions, but also nuclear level passion.I hope she writes more books in the future!

First one is fantastic.
I love the first book and most of the second. But then I feel like the writer got off track. She changed the characters drastically.

Watch the Movie AND Read the Book! HOT, HOT, HOT!
I have to be really honest here. I saw the movie before I read the book! I loved the movie and Massimo (and Michele Marrone who played the role) so much that I had to buy the book; because, of course, we all know that the books are always better. Why? Two reasons!1. They contain more details than can be included in a movie because of time constraints. Usually, scenes are deleted or combine in the movie. That was true in this case, but also one was added or changed. If you saw the movie, remember the scene where Massimo is sitting at an outdoor table meeting with other Mafiosos and Laura was eating the ice cream cone (very seductively)? Yep...not in the book.2. Books also contain more insight into the characters' thoughts and feelings. Those can't be conveyed in words in a movie because, well...it's a movie..movies don't include little speech balloons over their heads conveying their thoughts and the characters don't speak their thoughts aloud either (otherwise they might look crazy lol). So all we get is what the actor is able to convey with a look or action. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's lacking.I am definitely one of those who almost always says the book is better. In this case, I can't really say, I am undecided. I can say, yes, there was more in the book than in the movie. She slaps him a heck of a lot more in the book; and, in my opinion, she doesn't come across as much of a victim in the book. Instead, she come across a little more spoiled and maybe even "gold diggerish" especially in the beginning; also wishy-washy and sassy. Yes, I know a bit contradictory. Massimo on the other hand is exactly as he comes across in the movie (although I find it hard to believe Movie Massimo would let her slap him as much as book Massimo did without consequences. Guess we'll never really know since she only slapped him once in the movie!)So, did I like the book? Of course; but I don't know how much of having seen the movie had to do with that, or the fact that I pictured Michele Marrone the whole time I was reading. Having such a good visual definitely helps, especially when you've seen him acting out those scenes. Yeah....Hot! So will I ready the next in the series "365 - This day"? Will I watch the movie which comes out April 27th on NetFlix? Absolutely, but I think I'll watch before I read (That's a first for me)! Do I recommend the book? The movie? Absolutely, to both! But I would say watch, then read! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

A Hawt Read
I have been wanting to read this book since I saw the movie last summer and I was not disappointed. Don Massimo Torricelli has been looking for Laura Biel for 5 years he first saw her when he was shot. Laura and her boyfriend Martin take a dream vacation to Sicily when he sees her at the airport he knows he must have her. This was a really good read. Massimo who is a mob boss kidnaps her after she gets into with Martin he also threatens her and her family he also shows her pictures of Martin having sex with a girl in a club. I liked Laura she wasn't the soft submissive women that he was use to she agrees to give him the 365 days that he asked for. Massimo is a hot sexy alpha male who is use to getting what he wants. The movie had some hot sexy scenes in it and the book was better too me. When these two begin having sex it was hot as hell. Laura is not use to men deciding things for her she rebels and gets in trouble like poll dancing in the club and the man losing his hand for touching her. I did think that Laura drank too much especially with a heart condition. I liked that Massimo could be tender with her. I also liked the secondary charcters like his brother who looks after Laura and her bestfriend Olga. This was a good read that I listened to and read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series and I hope that the author doesn't make us wait to long for the English version of the next book.
