If your sitting in a chair, how bad does the clip dig intoyour back? They look a little thick.

I bought these suspenders for my husband. I asked him if the clip digs into his back, he said " only if I am leaning against something real hard, like a concrete wall. Otherwise they are great"

what is the difference between x style and y style?

X style crosses your back like an X and has 4 clips. 2 in front and 2 in back. Possibly stronger. Y style forms a Y on your back and has only one clip in the back, and 2 in front. Three clips total.

These are smart looking suspenders. Are these intended for day to day, casual wear and might or would look odd even in semi-formal occasions?

Didn't buy them for formal, rather to just hold up my pants. The quality is superb and the overall look could probably get past scrutiny in a formal setting.

Is this made in the USA?

Don’t really know. However, yesterday one of the slider clips for adjusting the length popped out. Will take a needle nose pliers and magnifier to repair it. Until now, I thought these were pretty good. The clasps that hold them to the trousers are fine. I would deduct a star for the adjustment grip fail after a few months’ use.
