Fantastic anamorphic lens!
Fantastic lens, I always recommend Sirui lenses to anyone who are starting out in cinematography and want the best value for their money. This lens does not have the teeth for your follow focus, but that's a super cheap add-on ring you can buy separately, and it is usually included with your follow focus. I will definitely keep buying Sirui lenses.

Lucky to have such options
Love this. Great price for a lens that for something comparable in the past would have been so much more expensive. It’s a good time to be making movies.

If you want to purchase any (new or used) Sirui lens, don't do it through the Amazon Store.
I am currently preparing a trip to NY, so I decided to purchase this lens through the Sirui Amazon Store instead of buying it used in another stores located in another states of the U.S., out of my city, specially because I was going to get a better price through Amazon. However, the lens was never sent to my address. Besides, I started to anticipate the worst-case scenario: the lens arriving to my house, while I am out of Austin TX, the city where I live. So I finally decided to cancel my order through Amazon, and everything is fine with it. To finish: thanks Sirui for making my travel preparations a bit more unpleasant.

Great lens!
Sirui brings studio quality lenses to the consumer. I recommend sirui mft lenses to every filmmaker I know. I have had this lens for years and haven’t encountered a single problem, the size and weight is perfect for lightweight set ups. The build quality, material and overall picture quality is superb.

Stiff mount on mf3
That’s my 2nd time I try these anamorphic lenses from Suiri, first one (35mm) I had to return because of the super stiff mount on mf3 bmpcc 4k camera, the 2nd one I got 24mm and was fortunately less stiff than the other one but still considered stiff compared to other lenses like MEKE, I contacted the customer service this time hopefully they would resolve the issue swiftly since the last time they were slow answering me back! watch the video to see the difference, on the other hand I think the image quality out of these lenses are decent

This is a fantastic Anamorphic lens. Probably the best 2nd focal length to pair with the 50mm.
Sirui knocked it out of the park with this series of lenses. I have the 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm. The 50mm gets lots of use with this 24mm a close second. The 35mm and 75mm are also fantastic, but they aren't as useful on MFT, for my needs. What I LOVE. The sharpness, color and character of this glass. There really is something special about anamorphic and these lenses give you that "X" factor at the lowest barrier to entry. Wide open = SHARP. Stopped down = EVEN SHARPER! Seriously, they are quite good, even if they were spherical glass. But, they are not spherical, they are anamorphic. This makes them even more amazing. Unless you spend crazy money for anamorphic, you will likely get some sort of (small or HUGE) add-on for another "taking lens". That means dual focus (You have to focus BOTH lenses, every time you need to adjust focus). It also usually means the image quality is compromised. Soft (especially corner sharpness), loss of contrast and color and usually difficulty keeping a level horizon, plus added aberrations and artifacts introduced with cobbled together components. It's also usually a very large and heavy setup. You also lose the ability to close focus, usually. That means you need additional optics to allow for a closer focus ability (diopters). This adds ADDITIONAL issues to the image quality, usually. plus It also adds significant costs. With the Sirui lenses and especially the 24mm, all of that is taken care of. They really did their homework on this series. There are better (and more expensive) anamorphic glass available today. The added cost does deliver superior results in many cases, but you will not find a better image quality for less. Not even close. If you spend less, you WILL get LESS. You may still want diopters if you need to focus closer than they allow natively (0.6m or less than 2ft for the 24mm). But I haven't found the need to do that. I just use a longer lens, when that's needed. Not the same thing, I'm aware, but it works for me. The flares are kinda neat, but not really my thing. If they happen, it's ok, but I certainly don't set out to try and trigger them. I know, I'm the minority here. The flares are blue and not overly exaggerated when the light source is in frame. The soft and diffused lens flares when the light source is out of the frame is especially pleasing, to my eye. Focus throw is supposedly 189 degrees. That's fairly long. Great for precise focus, but sometimes it's a long way to go when pulling focus by hand. We mostly use motors for this so no biggie for us. We purchased the MFT mounts and have successfully added a MFT to Sony E mount adapter to use these on our Sony bodies too. It's a very thin adapter, but with care, it's manageable. This was the main reason we went with MFT mount... greater flexibility. These lenses are all metal. They are also fairly heavy. But, compared to other anamorphic solutions and lenses, these are "lightweight". One issue it the inconsistent squeeze factor. Sometimes it 1.33x and sometimes 1.25x depending on the focus distance. This is not unique to this set. Many other anamorphics have this issue. You really need to keep that in mind when editing footage shot with this lens and others in the set. It's totally manageble, but worth mentioning. Seriously, we are loving this set. I wish we had waited for the Mars set since it solves a few of the issues these present. Focus and Iris gears already on board. Not only that, they are located in the very same location on all lenses in the set. Also, matching front filter threads and lens weights match throughout the set. That's really useful when moving quickly. No other adjustments when changing lenses, just swap and go. With these, we need to move the focus motor and matte box sometimes, along with the lens swap. Gimbal use... rebalance when swapping. Again, the Mars set addresses all of these, but at an additional cost. Overall this lens (and the overall set) have been fantastic and given us freedom in our creative vision. More tools in the box mean more choice in our deliverables. That's always a good thing!

Incredible Lens!
After being impressed with Sirui's 50mm and 35mm I had to get their 24mm lens to have the set so far. I am more into wider shots so this 24mm is more for those who want that extra horizontal field of view. I do hope Sirui manufacture an even wider lens (15mm would work really well especially for micro four thirds) but for now using a 0.43 wide angle adapter with the lens works really well as long as you do not mind the soft distorted edges. One thing to note is that this only shoots up to F2.8 aperture and not F1.8 like the previous 2 but because it is 24mm you still will get a shallow depth of field if you are close to your subject, speaking of which this is the only anamorphic lens I know that can shoot 2 feet away the others were about 2.5 feet and most anamorphic lenses have a minimum focus distance of 3 feet. Overall build quality is amazing as expected and the image from all of Sirui's lenses are very sharp for an anamorphic with great contrast and all the so called anamorphic flaws are there (if you want real oval bokeh you will need to modify the lens) If you buy from Sirui themselves shipment is very quick as this arrived about a week earlier then its estimated date which is amazing. If you want to explore anamorphic imagery with a wide lens then this is the perfect start and I hope Sirui takes off as the low budget anamorphic Kings as you will never get a cheap set with amazing build and I hope Sirui continues to manufacture more lenses down the line I know the 75mm is out but as mentioned I hope they do a wider lens then the 24mm but this 24mm is amazing overall.
