High Prairie Puppy Dry Dog Food, Roasted Bison, 5lb

My dog prefers this dry food. Eats it like it is a treat and doesn't like to have anything added to it like wet food or toppers.

My puppy loves this stuff! I did a bunch of research on different grain free dog foods before buying this one and to be honest the ingredients really sold me, I feed this to my 3 month old chihuahua dachshund mix and shes been on it for about a month. She was eating purina puppy chow when she was still with the previous owners and mama and her coat was so dull she was never drinking any water and her poop was so loose. There was an immediate change when I fed her this food. Her coat is the shiniest coat i've ever seen and her poop is all regular as well. The vet even asked us what we feed her because she was so healthy looking. Definitely would recommend this food to anyone looking for a grain free food. I was hesitant at first because of her small size but I definitely do not regret buying it. I'm reordering as we speak!

I fed my last dog Eukanuba for his entire life, and his vet often commented that he was one of the healthiest dogs in his care. So when I got a new puppy this year, I went straight for that brand. Nope. Squirt city. So began the hunt for a new food. I didn't want to sink to the level of a grocery store brand, so I tried Iams, which he tolerated, but it still wasn't perfect and he pooped A LOT. Started comparing grain-free foods and ultimately decided to give this one a try based on significant internet research. Verdict: He loves it, he's regular, he poops less, and I feel good about what I'm feeding him. I just wish it was a little less expensive!

I did extensive research on which dry foods are best for puppies and many breeders + trainers have recommended this brand. I’m also very picky when it comes to finding the right formulas so I always read the ingredients to make sure no crazy preservatives are in it. Does not contain BHA, BHT, and propylene glycol which is great! Also I love that the food is grain free and contains no corn, barley, oatmeal, white rice and soy (those are bad fillers for dogs!). The ingredients also contain taurine which is extremely important for dogs to consume starting at a young age as it supports their heart health as well (prevents heart failure!). My puppy is on his 3rd bag from Amazon and his stool has been good + the vet said he is completely healthy. I didn’t have any problems with spoiled kibbles or crazy torn bags like some people have complained about here.

My puppy loves this food. When we first got her, she would scratch her poor little face and chew her feet a few hours after eating. Like most people, we did a LOT of research on what we were going to feed her too! I had a feeling it was food allergies so we tried a grain free food first. Still with the scratching! After talking with our vet and doing some more research, we found out that many dogs have allergies to the chicken meal/products they use in dog foods these days. Now that she's eating this, she has no more scratching fits, her coat looks even better than before and she's very regular. I was so impressed with the ingredient and nutrient profiles and the price can't be beat for a "specialty" dog food. I'll be buying a huge bag of this when we run out of the 5lb one and be sure to transition her to an adult Taste of the Wild formula when it comes time.

I readily admit to being somewhat neutral on natural foods of most types. Often they are overpriced and under tasty. Taste of the Wild appears to be neither. I say appears because I have eaten none of it; however, our now 4 month old Biewer has and she has turned into a flying terror. It amazes me how a 4 pound puppy can go from one end of the house to another in record setting time. And she does it several times in a row. The resident old folks are lucky to know where the next room is much less run to it. I have said over the years that the proof of pet products is not in the words of the PR department but in the desire to consume the product often; not just one time at the begging of the boss. Taste of the Wild is that go to food for our pets now. Even though one of the dogs is over 14 years old he loves it as a snack while the pup has learned how to push aside other offerings. Now, I will have to research what food comes next.

Our yorkie pup was originally eating Waggs puppy food (supplied by the breeder, not very good stuff at all!), naturally, we quickly changed onto this food which was recommended by our vets as an excellent choice for dog and puppy food and he loves it! We mix it with almo nature wet food and every meal is wolfed. He is growing well, always has lots of energy, beautiful coat and is a very happy, healthy little boy. We've just bought another two bags for him (the expiry date is not until 2016!) We would highly recommend and so would our pup!
