It has the hook to allow the x16 slot's retaining hook to heep the adapter in place. An M.2 SSD mounted onto the adapter was recognized by the BIOS. ### ⭐ only lasted 8 months *by C***E on 30 September 2021* Worked fine for the first 8 months then started having problems. Intermittently not seen by the mobo. Swapped same nvme ssd (WD Black SN850) to different adapter and ran several days. Put the Vantec back in and not recognized at all. Adapter apperas to have died.
