How long does it keep ice cold?

I don't know exactly how long, but it's at least several hours. I volunteer on a farm and had my black rambler sitting in the sun one day, 80+ degrees outside, and my water was still ice cold after 4 hours. I have filled the rambler with ice water in the evening and woke up with water that was just as cold as it was when I put it in there. The reason I bought this was because of a friend's recommendation. I had been hesitant because of the price. He went to Moab, UT in July (H.O.T.), in his Jeep. He filled his rambler with ice, left it in his Jeep and came back a couple of hours later and some ice was still there. With these extreme heat waves, for me, this rambler was well worth the price.

Does it work as thermos, keep soup hot? Is the lid 2-piece? Does entire chug portion unscrew to allow adding soup? Leak proof?

I don't know if it will keep soup hot. I have only use it for keep drinks cold and it does a great job. Also it is leak proof and yes the lid has 2 piece, to allow add drinks, water. I think you could use it for soup, just do not know how long it will keep it hot. It keep my water and other drink cold for hours, I have 4 of them.
