Awesome, since that was what I wanted
A little confusion over the size...I thought I bought a 4 cup separator, but the box said 2 cups. As It turned out. it was a 4 cup. Awesome, since that was what I wanted. My old separator was plastic and IMPOSSIBLE to get completely clean. This one is glass, and doesn't have weird little nooks and crannies for congealed fat to sit in, and ultimately get in my next batch of gravy. Yummy, huh? This is glass. Glass that comes perfectly clean in hot, soapy water. Perfect! The glass is not heavy duty, so care will be taken not to bang it into anything else. The strainer on top has a silicone gasket around it, and fits perfectly, no moving around. The holes are on the large size, so it won't strain little, tiny pieces. The plug that fits on the spout is also silicone, and is also a perfect fit. There is also an offset pour spout, so you can pour out the fat that is left.I wish the spout sat a little lower on the body of the cup, but it still works, unless you are trying to separate a minimal amount (1/2 cup) of fluid. All in all, this is perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. Five stars.

What was I thinking?
Hard to use. Hard to clean. Broke spout after 2 seasons.

Wrong product size description. The quality of the glass looks good.
I just wonder if I am the only person got the wrong size product. It seems no body so far complain the wrong description.I was looking for a 2-cup/16-oz separator to replace my old plastic separator which is 1.5-cup/12-oz. So I found this product with description "Generous 16-Ounce Capacity Stores Plenty Enough Gravy for Large Family Dinner". However, when the product arrived, it is 3x larger as my old one. The scale is marked as 35 oz, and you can fill in another 5 oz to 40 oz.The quality of the glass looks good. But it is just too big for me.

Much better than any other I've had.
I love the concept of gravy separators and use one at least once a week. I can't understand why so many are made of plastic when they are intended to have hot liquid poured into them. Most of the glass ones I've had were so thin they broke easily. This one is thicker and seems like it will last longer. I like the plug to keep the fat from entering the spout and the built in strainer. The only design flaw is that there is an indent for pouring out the fat close to the spout that pours out the fat-free broth. If you have a full 4 cups of broth in there, the fat starts to run out . It would be better to have that on the side or back closer to the handle.

Glad I purchased it.
The strainer worked well to separate pieces of meat and skin. The 4 cup container permitted taking care of all the turkey liquid on thanksgiving with just two fills. Pay attention to the small pour spout on the upper lip of the container. If it is very full some liquid can pour out before it gets out the separator spout. Once you do this you wont repeat the mistake. Far superior to my old separator made of plastic and smaller capacity.

One Star
It works fine, but the edge of stainless steel cover/strainer is really sharp. It cut my pinky.

Happy hubby too
I have had other spear torts, but this one really works. The design is perfect. The size, I thought at 1st was too big, but see now is ideal. It really separates the fat and the juices. My husband says I take out too much fat flavor, and now he come into the kitchen an is willing and able to add in just the right amount as so easy with this separators design. Very happy.
