Fantastic Coffee Canister Set.
I actually quit drinking coffee a number of years back due to my passing a lot of kidney stones. My doctor gave me a list of food I should avoid and coffee just happened to be one of them. It was not an easy thing to quit as I am one of those people that just LOVE a fresh cup of high quality, fresh ground coffee in the morning. Its now been over 7 years since I have passed a kidney stone and I did cut out like 95% of the food that were on that list my doctor gave me. So I decided to start drinking it again, but only in moderation. Basically just 1 cup in the morning. I wound up buying a really nice coffee maker but since I like to grind my own beans, I needed to buy a storage container. I was initially just going to use some of my stainless steel POP containers, but I decided to do a bit of browsing on Amazon before committing to that route 100% and that is when I stumbled across Coffee Gator's Coffee Canister. The Charcoal Grey color matched perfectly with my Kitchen since my Kitchen is basically designed around marble counter tops and stainless steel appliances. And I loved that it came with its own scoop and two containers, one for the unground beans and a smaller one where you could store a small amount of ground coffee. The larger container has a fantastic seal on it. Its nice and tight, but not so tight that its difficult to open. In fact its incredibly easy to open. That seal will ensure your coffee stays fresh. The smaller container has a screw off top, but its extremely easy to thread it properly and it also has a great seal. And they really do have a really fantastic visual design. They look fantastic on your counter top. Bottom line - I am sure there are probably hundreds of different containers out there that one could use for storing beans or ground coffee and I am sure most would work pretty well. Its not like creating these types of storage containers is actually difficult. That being said, I wound up going with Coffee Gator's storage container for a number of reasons. First, I thought the overall design looked really nice and it matched the design of our kitchen perfectly. 2nd, I love that it came with a smaller 2nd container for left over ground coffee or you could use it to grind a few days worth of coffee so you don't have to grind coffee every single morning. The container is small enough that the coffee in it isn't going to start degrading in quality by the time your done using it all. 3rd, it came with its own scoop, which we keep stored right in the main coffee bin. And after getting it and seeing it first hand, they really are quality containers through and through. If your looking for a storage container for your coffee, wether it be beans of ground coffee, you really can't go wrong with this model. In fact, I plan on buying 2 more this upcoming Christmas and giving one to each of my sisters as they are both coffee connoisseurs and their coffee containers just aren't as nice as these are. All in all, just a fantastic set that will make most coffee drinkers very happy! 5 Stars!!

Yes go and order one
Today I received my Coffee Gator Canister. Let me start out by saying that the instructions are very simple to follow and I like all of the features ( that's why I purchased) and I like that it came with a coffee scoop. Now upon opening it, the quality doesn't seem as nice as it is described and from most of the reviews that I read. I love the look of stainless steel but I absolutely despise the finger prints, smudges and water spots so I am always cleaning my appliances to keep them looking nice. Yes, it was my choice to get the stainless and it's my time that I take to do it not anyone else so please no negative feedback. So with that said, after I read the instructions and cleaned it out as directed, it took me a bit to get the smudges and smears off of it. Again the gauge of steel and the quality is what I have issues with. It's very light. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this canister surprises me. I will give it a fair try. I do not like leaving a review like this , I just want to be honest because I read reviews on everything that I purchase. I will give an update soon. 12/10/23 I have been pleasantly surprised!! I can go months without opening it and when I do it's just as fresh as it was the day that I poured it in this keeper. So I can truly say that I would recommend this for your coffee.

Keeps my bulk purchase of Costco coffee much fresher
I'm not a coffee aficionado, or even a coffee snob. Youi don't have to be either notice that the coffee was getting dry and bitter when I bought the Costco 3lb packs and ground them at the store. First 1/3 of the coffee was great! Second 1/3, a drop off, but drinkable. Last 1/3 I drank mostly out of desperation and not wanting to spend more than I had to on coffee. I'm not going to grind my beans in the morning - I like my extra sleep. So I needed something that would keep my coffee fresh until I could drink it all. My only complaint is that the container is a little small - it won't hold the entire 2.5 - 3lb costco bag of ground beans. So I had to get two containers. It will easily hold a full "premium" bag of beans/coffee you get at Starbucks or wherever you buy your fancy coffee. The last 1/3 of the Costco bag of coffee was significantly better when stored in the container(s). Come to think of it, the second 1/3 was much better as well - a lot closer to the first 1/3. Overall my coffee drinking has improved. I was thinking of moving to the smaller bags of coffee at significant increase in cost per cup, but this container proved it's worth as I can now still get the big bag at Costco for ridiculously cheap. In 2 months it covered its cost in coffee savings. There is a little feature to set a "expiration" date on the top of the container. I set it cause I thought I was cool, and then never checked it again. As described above, I'll pretty much drink the coffee anyway, so expiration isn't important. Someone who is a stickler for freshness may find value in that feature. It also comes with extra white little things inserted in the interior of the lid. I'm supposed to changed them out periodically to help freshness. I hope that isn't a requirement because I'll forget about that too, and most likely lose the extra ones they provide. Overall, it keeps coffee fresher with not much maintenance. Which is what I wanted. I don't really have anything else to compare it to, except a tupperware container, which made the coffee taste plastic-ey. Much better option than that.

Very solid canister. Seals tight. The month dial did not move and work for me. Customer service is great.
This is a great coffee canister. I very much like the grey color I bought. Looks very nice. The canister does an excellent job in keeping the coffee beans fresh. The CO2 release valve is a great feature. The locking mechanism is very solid and very easy to use. My only concern is that the month dial does not work for me. I tried every which way to get it to rotate. No luck. The day dial works easily and I have been using it. Though for the amount of time I keep the beans in the canister it really doesn't matter much. I had returned a few other ones I bought thinking the dial to be defective. When I got this one and still had a problem I decided it wasn't worth returning and kept it. I received an email from the company following up on the purchase and wrote them back about the dial. They responded fairly quickly and finally told me they would be working on getting the dial to work better in future models. To make up for the trouble they gave me a refund and told me I could keep the canister. I was impressed. I didn't ask for a refund but after I told them of how I had returned a few of them and finally thought it wasn't worth returning this one, the woman following up told me she was sorry and for my trouble they wanted to issue a refund. Wow... very impressive. I also discovered that the CO2 valve really doesn't need attention down the road even though they ship a few replacements with the canister. It doesn't need to be replaced unless it gets wet or for aesthetic reasons (it will eventually discolor). Nice to know. If the month dial doesn't bother you (I assume you may have the same problem) then go ahead and get this canister. It's a bit pricey but it is a solid container and does a great job.

Love this CoffeeGator company!
Excellent customer service! It's the old fashioned kind that is almost unheard of these days! I initially had given a less than positive review because I didn't understand the product! And then there was the size of the canister that I didn't think would work well. So after seeing my concerns in the review I gave....The owner/co founder of the CoffeeGator company contacted me himself! You could not ask for a more professional, accommodating and genuine person. He was so concerned about my 'unhappiness' that he reached out to see if there was anything he could do! Never once was he defensive and had zero attitude while he spoke to my concerns. Wow! I respect a business that is savvy enough to resurrect the art of Customer Service. There are not enough companies these days who do it well. This company does! Not only do they have a great product in the CoffeeGator, they back up their products!! So with that I am going to suggest that anyone interested in the Coffee Gator and not sure about buying one...get one! Get two! Both for yourself and it's a cool gift for someone else! I buy organic coffee beans in bulk. It's a 3 lb. bag. It's such a good deal I have to do it this way! Typically, I grind the beans as I use them. So I'm using my canisters for the beans vs. the ground coffee. But I've recently had a light bulb moment with respect to freshness. Because of the canister design with the Co2 valve....I think I might be able to actually grind more beans ahead of time and fill up one canister with ground coffee while I keep the rest of the whole beans stored in the other one! Best of both worlds! I'll have to experiment with that to see if I can still get consistently good coffee everyday like I do now. It's always like I just opened the bag! So the canisters do a great job! I now have 2 canisters and on my way to purchasing a 3rd one! It feels like each canister is holding a pound of beans, maybe a little more. I love how they look in both pantry and on the kitchen counter top! If you've read this far thanks! I don't write very many Amazon reviews. But after my experience with this company I had to come back and revise that 1st review for sure! It's hard to buy things online blindly and I know how I always appreciate people writing their opinions about something I'm interested in buying. I don't think you will ever be disappointed with any purchase from this company. Because now you know as I do, that if anything makes you less than happy they are relentless in their efforts to please! :)

quality item
i've had this for a while it is air tight keeps the bugs out hasn't rusted yet. i know stainless steel isn't supposed to rust but it does in florida. i haven't vacuum sealed it after opening and i can't tell the difference between stale or fresh coffee anyway so i don't know how well it works in that regard but i don't expect it to be better or worse than other containers. i like the look of it. i like the scoop it came with and the fact that it attaches to the container. i don't know what they're charging for it now but i think i spent 25-30 for it is it worth it? i would say it is not overproced at $30 but is it better than a ziploc bag or a plastic canister i thnk that aesthetics plays a bogger part in the decision to buy it it is definitely more indestructible than a bag or a plastic container but it just plain looks nicer

Received this quickly. I already have 4 medium size ones. I like have different types of coffee. Plus I also have espresso beans. So I needed extra canisters. I started with one then my mom got me another. But ended up not being enough. I just used my chalk labels so I can label each canister. Plus i really like that you can date each with the month and day on top of the can. I did a side by side of the medium and large. There is a good size difference between the two. I looked into cheaper versions but they had issues that I was not willing to deal with just to save some money. I waited a bit before buying the other 2 mediums and the large one. I sort wish I had just purchased 2 large ones. But I was waiting hoping the large would come down in price and got impatient. Anyway, I am happy with my purchase. Now I think I am set for quite awhile. I like dunkin dark roast, dunkin 2.5 lb regular from bjs, and joes, also espresso beans so which is why I needed extra canisters to keep it all separated. It makes a big difference in comparison to just keeping in the bags they come in. In the bags they get stale so quickly especially the 2.5lb regular dunkin that one goes stale the fastest of all of them. It took one large and one medium canister to completely empty my 2.5lb regular dunkin coffee. But these cans keep everything fresh and the grounds stay dark colored and smell fresh like you had just opened the bag. So it is worth spending the money if you truly like your coffee to taste fresh.

I am sure the other colors would look great, too
This is a very attractive, contemporary looking coffee container. As a matter of personal preference, I went with the blue color accented by silver trim. I am sure the other colors would look great, too. More importantly, this well made coffee canister is functional & will achieve it's basic purpose of preserving your coffee. Although ground coffee could be stored in a Coffee Gator, I will use mine to store whole beans. If you want great tasting coffee, it is hard to beat fresh ground coffee. As for the Coffee Gator, its lid clasps securely to keep unwanted air out, while the filter in the lid, allows harmful CO2 to escape. The complimentary scoop that came with the coffee container holds 2 tablespoons of ground coffee, which is just about right for a couple cups of coffee. There really isn't anything cheap about this coffee canister. It holds right at a pound of coffee beans. That would be my only suggestion to the manufacturer, it would be nice if a container big enough to hold a couple pounds of coffee would be offered as a buying choice. But, I understand the Coffee Gator Company's rationale that smaller batches of coffee is better. Unfortunately, the only way that some coffee can be bought is in 2 pound bags. The Coffee Gator Canister really is a great product, which does the job admirably.

Works very well, terrific value!
I first read about Coffee Gator containers about a year ago, and was disappointed that they weren't available in Canada. I ended up buying something else, and ordered one as soon as I learned that they are now shipping here. Surpasses all expectations. Looks very good, clearly high quality build, and I'm amazed how fresh it keeps my beans; much, much, better than what I've been using. I'll be buying a few more of these, as gifts for friends who, like me, are coffee enthusiasts.
