Coconut?!
I didn't check the ingredients when we bought these, and I still haven't looked. But I would be willing to bet these m that these contain more coconut than the traditional almond that is in Bakewells. That said, these do taste very nice even if they have that coconut texture and slight flavour. Moist, sweet with a slight stickiness and a visible jam layer. Jam flavour is less dominant than we expected from other reviews. In appearance they look like they could be Bakewell slices with the cake top and thin pastry bottom, albeit lacking in any visible almond flakes! Nice quality, decent portion size and enjoyed by our family.

These are so good , it's a relief to be able to buy nice cakes as I'm now too old to make any.

The plastic wrapping was very dusty! Not a good look if there is cakes inside!
The plastic wrapping was covered in dust! So I was a bit worried about trying them as they were also a bit squashed. Saying that, they were quite cheap and tasty if a bit on the sweet side.

Great
Really impressed with these. They are surprisingly moist and have a strong, lovely almond flavour, which is exactly what you want from a Bakewell. They don't have that dry, crumbly texture many GF cakes suffer from. A great staple for the cupboard.
