Original Album Classics

Do you like The Byrds? Do you wish to delve into their early (and IMHO, their BEST) work? Well this is the place to start. You either know or know OF these guys so I will just tell about the product as such.The first five albums in splendid sound, each cd with extra tracks. They come in their individual cardboard slip covers depicting the original artwork both front and back.. so reading the liner notes is nigh on impossible for us older guys but it is nearly as good as fondling the original album cover (although it's hard to replicate that joy without having the actual 12" vinyl). The outer casing which contains the 5 cds is THIN cardboard as opposed to the later Original Album Classics releases which have a lovely hardboard protective sleeve. This release will sit nicely on your shelf next to the 5-cd Little Feat, Dr John, Blackfoot, etc 5-disc sets.. I'm glad I bought it even though I have had these release individually many times and lost/sold them in due process. I hope I am older and wiser (definitely OLDER) now and hang onto this set. Good value.. Great music.

This is a great price for 5 CDs. The packaging, to emuate record covers, doesn't list them, but these include the bonus tracks from the 1996 reissue. I'm not sure that important, but it's nice to be complete.I have most of the Byrds albums on vinyl, but I've not listened to them in over twenty years. Early after getting a CD player in 1997, Igot a boxed set, pretty complete but missing things. I did get Sweetheart of the Rodeo and Ballad of Easy Rider. Now I have everything, including "CTA-102".Most people could live with a collection. But that focus means original albums are never heard, and so material falls out of sight.
