Could this fit MacBook Air 11 inch ?

I do not think so. It barely fits my iPad 9.7 in an case.

Any ideas on how one could use this as a daily purse, while using it to conceal carry? Aside from just throwing it in the bag?

I would not use this for concealed carry. As a NRA instructor, I always recommend carrying on the body. However, if you find it only possible to carry "off-body" I would recommend a purse or bag made for that purpose. Most have inserts for a firearm and magazines insuring good access and presentation from the bag.

Is this really only an inch wide? A notebook would not fit.

Yes. This bag barely fits an IPad 9.7. I have mine in a knock off otter box and it barely zips. It’s thin enough to put my iPad, my phone, and that’s about it in thickness. The big square pocket is about double the thickness of the main pocket.

How long is the strap?

It's adjustable from about 27 to 51 inches, not including the clips at either end.
