Lifetime 7' x 7' Outdoor Storage Shed with High-Density Polyethylene, Steel-Reinforced, Desert Sand

I got this shed to store my lawnmower, snowblower, some totes, and a few other tools. It has plenty of room to store these items. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and feel it's a good product. It's sturdy and looks good. I gave it 5 stars but I would give it 4.5 if that was an option. The roof has some minor issues (see below). The shed arrived in two large (very heavy) boxes. Once the delivery driver put them down I realized they were not going to move unless I took the parts out. Assembly was somewhat easy for me but I'm mechanically inclined. I also made sure to follow the YouTube instruction videos. They were very helpful and really supplemented the physical instructions well. Unless you're a pro, you really need a helper. There are just some things that are nearly impossible to do alone. The main issue I had with the shed is the roof panels. It took A LOT of pushing and pulling to get the screw holes to line up. I also didn't like the little plastic brackets they use to connect the roof panels to the front and back walls. The instructions are not great and they seem somewhat flimsy once they're attached. I'm still not 100% sure I installed them correctly. Also, I really don't like how the skylight is attached to the roof as I was unable to get it completely flush. I'm sure some silicone caulk or finding some slightly longer screws may help, but I'm not that worried about leaks. I'd recommend buying this shed if you need something sturdy and don't want to mess with a wood or metal shed. Note: Wood sheds are great but they need maintenance like painting and will rot if ignored. Metal sheds will rust and, in my experience, do not handle wind well.

First time building one of these plastic/resin sheds. The 7 X 7 shed is great! Delivery was easy. I set a delivery date and received a delivery window between 9:30am-3pm. The delivery crew called a little after 12p to say they were 15 minutes away. Great service from the delivery company. No damage and they dropped it off at the back of my driveway. 2 large and heavy boxes. Inventoried everything, ready to build. Assembly was straightforward. I watched the assembly video on the Lifetime website several times. I built a pressure treated foundation set on blocks a couple weeks ahead of delivery using the instructions and measurements from the manual available online. Everything was level and square to start. I spent an entire day making sure the blocks were level. 4 at the corners, a block midway on all sides and 2 blocks in the middle where the 2x4's would land (16" on center). 10 blocks total. The blocks are almost flush with the ground. Just high enough to keep the wood out of the dirt. I assembled the entire shed by myself in about 5hrs. A second set of hands for the gables and roof panels would have been nice. The roof panels are the hardest part of the entire assembly. Getting screw holes to line up was difficult with one person, but it went together as it should. All said and done, the doors close nice, everything lines up perfect without using the included shims. Be careful with the clear ridge (skylight). The wind blew mine down on the concrete walkway and cracked it. I'm waiting for Lifetime to get back to me on a replacement. But, be careful assembling this part, I could see it cracking when pushing it under the gable vent if you're too rough with it. 2 corner shelves and a small wall shelf are included. I secured the shed to the platform using 4 galvanized lag bolts w/fender washers in each corner as recommended in the manual. These are not included. Great purchase and easy delivery. Couldn't be happier! EDIT: I contacted Lifetime by phone and explained how the skylight blew over cracked, they shipped a replacement skylight free of charge, including free shipping. Received new skylight in about a week and installed it. Excellent customer service!

Throw away the instructions and look up videos on YouTube. Screws are very easy to over tighten and strip the plastic. Lots of fasteners included, shed will definitely need to be strengthened with lumber. We poured a pad that was flat and square that made the build much easier. I think the shed is still good quality.

The assemply was a little rough with just 1 person, doors didnt quite line up, but it turned out, it was not 100% level. Once it was level, everything was great! Been using it for a while now and its great!

This is actually the second Lifetime 7×7 shed I’ve owned, and that says a lot. I’ve only had this one for about a month, but just like my first, the build quality is excellent. The panels are sturdy, the doors feel secure, and it looks great in the yard. Assembly does take some time (definitely easier with two people), but once it’s up, it holds up well against the elements. I like the skylight and vents—it doesn’t feel stuffy inside, even in the summer. So far, everything’s staying dry and organized. If you prep a level base and follow the steps, this shed is definitely worth it.

I watched the Lifetime video and the installation didn’t look that difficult. I knew there were tons of screws but with the video I figured could handle it. My backyard has several underground cables at different depths and there’s actually not a good level place for a shed. So I ended up using a plywood foundation and a laser to make it level, and it was also squared. Long story short, I completed the foundation and it was completely level. The installation was going fine until I got to the roof. Had issues with the panels lining up but with a lot of effort I was able to get them on. Also, had same type of issues with the skylight. Talked with Lifetime support and their answer it’s not level and squared which it was. Talked to another person with a concrete foundation and they had similar issues with doors and corners. Looks great after completion. But, I wouldn’t buy this one again. Also, if you build a shed, find the minimum foundation requirement. Since it was 7x7 I actually made it 7x7 and for the shed the minimum is 83x83 which I lucked out. Actually before I purchased this one I saw another shed that was 7x7 with less screws and looked a lot easier to assemble, but the minimum foundation size was 85x85 and I already had my foundation completed.

I'm a 50-year-old woman who has taken on a lot of DIY projects. I was able to build this shed in a couple of afternoons almost completely by myself. I did have my husband push down the corners of the roof while I screwed them down, but if you have no one to help you, this can also be accomplished with clamps. Two people (or even three) can make this a much easier build and this is what the manufacturer advises. But I also know that isn't possible for everyone. Building experience helps, but is not completely necessary. The longest part was getting the base ready, which does need to be completely level. For the pad and the shed, just read the instructions one step at a time and don't rush. Don't try to force things to fit, either. I thought the screw holes weren't lined up correctly on a few pieces, but I kept manipulating them around and eventually they went into place. The instructuon manual has good drawings and instructions. In addition, it provides a QR code for the BILT app, which I highly advise. In the app, there are animations and videos for every single step, where you can zoom in close enough to see the orientation of the screws. Since building the shed we have had a lot of wind and rain and everything inside is completely dry. I would recommend this shed to anyone needing some extra storage space and might buy another one for a different project I'm working on. Note: the solar light in the final interior picture is something I purchased separately, but the shelving was all included.

Great shed! Parts were complete and packaged according to steps, saving me time packaging individual items together as I have had to do with other sheds. Metal braces strenghen already sturdy wall and roof panels against the wind. Tight connection between wall panels and floor keeps debris out. I built on a concrete pad and all parts, including roof panels, went together flawlessly. My only hiccup was with the concrete anchors. The instructions said to drill anchor holes with a 5/16" drill bit when using a 3/8" anchor - I almost broke an anchor! Went to the Tapcon site and found that drill bit should be 3/8" for a 3/8" anchor! Smooth sailing after that! Well worth the money and I highly recommend!

Good shed Aesthetics: Looks as good as photos. Design: Until constructing wld not have realised it would be better design to have the windows in the door, after all light is needed but not to waste wall space for windows and when door is closed you cannot see if someone is in front of door when opening. Shelving: l didn't find the provided long shelf useful as you can only fix it into certain positions into the struts. I’m using garage rack shelving. The corner shelves are useful near the door. 180 high racks fit around the struts. Gutter: gutter chanel’s are build into the roof struts, interesting design. The roof light: Others seem to have had problems, ours fit perfectly, maybe they were not positioning it correctly. I’ve added a magnetic COB light but in day time plenty of natural lighting with roof light and window. You cld add a solar light with PIR. Window: Perspex, I won’t be opening mine, there will be enough ventilation when required with doors open. I will be applying privacy film to mine. I fitted both windows to same wall rather than opposite sides. Construction: level base necessary, ours was block paving which was laid by us for the shed without special tools. Managed to put the shed together but when putting roof on and attaching at back last 2 roof panels were bit troublesome to line up, needed to loosen and retighten few joining pieces and hold in. I’m pretty sure if it were not for fact my friend has a lot of experience putting things together we wld have gotten stuck. Took us 1.5 days to construct. 1 person who knew what to do the other (me, the little woman) holding stuff and occasionally being blamed for not being competent 😂. Did have to watch some of the videos back and forward few times here and there. The roof clips were a modified design to video but I think bit easier. Floor: seems ok but we laid rubber matting down to provide additional insulation against cold from base. Waterproof: Plenty of rain since construction and everything inside is dry. Value for money: I felt it was a bit expensive but I think a wooden shed would not last anywhere near as long so acceptable. Compared to a wood shed: For a more novice person at least you can screw things into a wood shed to hold it together if things not exactly lined up. Did need a bit more patience and more level floor for a plastic one. Instructions: booklet and step by step videos were good. I’d allow 2 days. Lockability: Don’t buy a padlock till you see the ring, a medium rather than large padlock works, a very heavy duty large one will not fit. Thickness: This is a premium brand shed, I think better than Keter. I read many reviews of other sheds before I selected this company’s shed. Storage Capacity: this is a medium sized shed, I’ve added 4 shelf racks 3 of 180x90x40 and 1 of 150x80x30, there is space still for floor standing lawn mower and other items as well and boxed items stacked. Biggest difficulty: getting the screws out of the packets was bit difficult 😂 be careful with Stanley knife!! Overall very happy with the shed. 1 star deducted for window not in door design and terrible screw packaging.

This is my first time owning a plastic/resin shed. Before purchasing, I spent several weeks researching various brands and reading countless reviews. Every time, Lifetime consistently stood out as the top-rated brand. I had a clear list of requirements, and although I was willing to spend a bit more for higher quality, I was pleased to find this particular model on special offer at the time. The shed was delivered in two very large, heavy boxes. I unpacked everything and carefully identified all the parts listed in the instructions. To make things easier, I sorted the pieces into categories: base, doors, walls, and roof. There’s a surprisingly large number of screws and fixings, but they’re all clearly labelled and correspond perfectly with each step in the manual. Speaking of the manual – it’s genuinely one of the best I’ve ever used. It’s extremely well-written and easy to follow. If you do find yourself stuck, it’s likely because you’ve missed something in the instructions. They even include QR codes linking to helpful assembly videos, which is a great touch. If you have basic DIY skills, you’ll manage fine. That said, I did need a second pair of hands for slotting in the wall panels and positioning the roof. Overall, it took me two days to complete the build. Once finished, the shed has a very clean and tidy appearance. However, I must admit to feeling a bit disappointed with the overall quality. If this is the best plastic shed on the market, I’d be concerned about what the cheaper ones are like. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high, but given the price point—even at a discount—I was hoping for something sturdier. Here are a few areas I felt let the product down: Wall panels: These could definitely be thicker and the corrugated finish on the inside makes the space feel less refined; a flat interior would be much more practical. Base: It’s functional, but nothing exceptional. Skylight design: This was the most frustrating part of the build. It felt like the designer took a holiday and left an apprentice in charge! It doesn't align with the well-thought-out design of the rest of the shed. The skylight simply slots in without a secure locking mechanism, and it’s not clear where the screws should go. I ended up physically climbing on the roof to push it into place and had to reinforce it from the inside for peace of mind. Gaps and sealing: There were more small gaps than I was comfortable with, so I’ve had to spider-proof the shed. Flooring: I added a rubber gym floor mat over the base to make it feel more robust and comfortable to walk on. Final Thoughts In conclusion, the shed is fine – it looks good and I found it relatively easy to build. But I do feel it falls short of the premium expectations I had based on the brand reputation and the price. It’s not bad, but it’s not exceptional either. If you're considering a plastic shed and go in with realistic expectations, this could still be a solid choice.
