The Vigorous Veg GrowSpot emits blue light that enhances the vegetative life-cycle. It is also an outstanding aquarium light. The all new energy squeezing GrowSpot LED grow light uses only 12 watts of power and provides the perfect blend of light for fast and vigorous plant growth. Featuring our all new, patent pending, Matrix LED technology, the redesigned GrowSpot contains 12 high powered LEDs on the same die and under one lens for unparalleled focus and light output. The rate of growth will amaze you. GrowSpots can be placed very close to your plants or even under the plant canopy for those areas in your garden needing extra light.. You can't do that with an HPS or halide grow light. GrowSpots fit into any standard light socket making them extremely versatile and easy to use. We reengineered the new GrowSpot from the ground up. Our approach to thermal management enabled us to remove the internal fan that the previous GrowSpot had. This means the new GrowSpot now uses 3 watts less power than the original model yet produces more light. GrowSpots promote fast, vigorous growth and are completely safe for you, your plants and the environment. They do not contain harmful metals or gasses like fluorsescent, HPS and halide bulbs. Emitting only pure light for plants, GrowSpots are safe to the human eye. There is no infared or UV light making them perfectly safe for the home or classroom. Despite its small size the GrowSpot packs a big punch and can cover an area up to 4 square feet. The GrowSpot is a direct replacement for a 150w HPS, MH or T5 bulb. GrowSpots are also great for plants brought indoors for the winter. They'll keep your plants alive and thriving through the cold winter months.

This did not work for me
I bought a real bamboo and thought this would be a great addition to helping the plant through the winter. Unfortunately it ended up being an incredibly bright blue light shining into the street through my window at night, and the plant didn't seem to care one bit about it.I'm more embarrassed to use this thing than anything else, maybe I'd be less embarrassed if I didn't have to pay so much for it.

Which plants?
I have not yet found the plants that thrive under this light. Plants that have struggled under this, I've moved back under my florescent tubes where they take right back off. Maybe the tech is just not there yet, or maybe it's me.

Not recommended.
Broken after about 1 year. My cactus and carnivorous plants did not respond well to this light. Not recommended.
