Can I use this stand for my iPad pro without taking off my magic keyboard?

The bottom of the standholder has a little rubber lip to keep the ipad from sliding or falling off. While you could use the magnetic keyboard, it may be slightly lifted and the ipad may not fit snuggly on the stand. If your magic keyboard is separate (non-magnetic or attached to a case) you will be able to use it no problem! I have an ipad pro 12.9 using a separate bluetooth keyboard, and this works great.

Can this stand be used in bed?

Maybe but it is best used on a flat surface.

can I use this stand without taking off a protective Pitaka case?

As long as it’s not especially bulky and will lie flat, I believe so. I don’t have a Pitaka case, but I use a folio sort of protective case similar to the Apple branded ones (but with an Apple pencil holder) and I leave it on while using the stand. I also use bulky sketchbooks with it.
