The Essential AIP Cookbook: 115+ Recipes For The Paleo Autoimmune Protocol Diet

Best AIP cookbook I've seen!
I love this book! Most AIP books have recipes that are too complicated, or use too many ingredients that are hard to find, or that my family won't eat. Not this one! Kid friendly, incredibly simple recipes, and my entire family with varying special dietary needs can eat every single recipe in this book! It truly doesn't have a single recipe with dairy, nuts, eggs, soy, grains, or nightshades! Can't say enough about this book!

Cauliflower in the morning, cauliflower in the evening, cauliflower at supper time!
The instructions and amounts are a little vague. I've had some recipes not turn out because of this. Some of the instructions seem to be left out and have caused confusion. My partner is a professional chef and was still confused by some of the instructions. I hope you like cauliflower and coconuts. Almost every recipe uses cauliflower and some form of coconut (shredded, milk, or flour). The recipes do have very few ingredients and are simple though which is nice. They are fairly easy to make. You will need a food processor though. Some of the recipes are obviously phoned in. One is for Dungeness crab. Ingredients Dungeness crab; instructions cook crab in boiling water. Really? Give me a break. Anither recipe is you can cook bacon on an upside down muffin tin to make cups. No recipe with the cups you just made.Long story short; buy another book. There are better books out there for less money.

New to AIP? Get this book! DELISH and EASY
Especially if you are new to AIP, you will want this recipe book. The Autoimmune Protocol is explained in bullet points (super easy to understand) and the recipes are super simple and DELICIOUS!! I've only had the book for two weeks and have made over 20 of the recipes... I had no idea I could eat this well and satisfyingly on AIP. There are other books that will go deeper into the theory and research behind AIP, but this is a must-have recipe book!! Enjoy.

Phoned in.
I returned this book unhappy with the purchase and here’s why.For a book that is relatively pricey, it has low quality printing and binding. This is also not a recipe book for AIP novices and does not do a fair job of introductory material into the Ideas behind AIP.The content is “ essential-ly” AIP but it is by no means “essential” AIP.

Many Asian-inspired recipes
This author provides much-appreciated takes on many Asian (Chinese, Korean, etc.) dishes not found in other AIP books. Yes, the paper is flimsy and there are a typo or a missed ingredient here and there, but it's easy to get the recipes right. I had to return my copy because just about every page was splattered with cooking liquid stains (obviously not "part of the book design", which tells me somebody used this and returned it and it was put back into stock and sold as "new."

Meh...
This is my first AIP cookbook, so maybe I was expecting too much. There is good streamlined info. The ingredients are pretty easy to find and the recipes I've tried have been easy to make. But all meh to eat. Little or no flavor. But like I said, maybe I was expecting too much from a diet as restrictive as this one is. The isn't a single recipe that I've made that I would make if I wasn't on this diet

Raw carrot Cake
Mostly standard recipes substituting coconut butter for butter, shortening, and oil . but when they finally wander from the unimaginative tried and true its with flavor and flare and lots of good taste.

Useful Intro
The author wrote a quick read, useful cookbook for AIP and Paleo diets combined. The author gives a few practical tips on who should do this eating plan, when they should do it, and how to do it. She then presents 50 recipes. The recipes are free from most major allergens. Vegans will need to make frequent bean substitutions. Those who do not eat mushrooms will need to make substitutions on a few recipies. Those avoiding pork, will have to fairy frequently substitute or skip a recipe or two from each category. Those avoiding seafood will also need to make a few substitutions. If you need to avoid chicken, about 1/2 the recipes contain some chicken. The only difficult ingredients might be saffron, endive, or parsnips used in a couple of recipes.

Don't Bother
Not great, I have read a lot about AIP due to my own health reasons and would not recommend this book, the recipes are ok, but nothing innovative and I actually felt that some of them would not be good for an AIP diet.

Simple recipes
I haven't tried the recipes yet, buy plan to make good use of this cookbook. The recipes are simple to make, short ingredient lists which make them sound possible and lots of good sounding food.

sehr interessantes Rezeptbuch
Die Rezepte sind wirklich sehr interessant, es wäre aber noch schöner wenn man sie auch in deutscher Sprache bekommen könnte.
