Great product
So far so good. I was using the microtouch and this is a lot more gentle and easy to use. I definitely get a closer shave using it to. Very easy to open up and clean. Exactly as advertised. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Pitbull vs Freebird
I had the pitbull gold for a few years, decided to see what the difference was. Feel wise this feels like a chinchilla, pitbull just idk a cold plastic feel, but I do like the grip. Pitbull is more vicious, less pass overs and touching up, but it’s whole vibe reflects that. Like if you closed your eyes, and held the freebird, it’s so light and quiet lol you’d be like I’m quietly shaving my head, but with the pitbull, you wouldn’t know if you were shaving your head or doing construction lmao Just loud, heavier, more screw everything, let’s just make this mf cut vibe lol you gotta do a couple more pass overs with the freebird, but idk I kinda find it makes me me pay attention more and get everything rather just try and whip through it and realize at work you got a random lil patch of hair on the back of your head lol Obviously patience would eliminate that, but I never learned about patience, I think it’s a myth, honestly.Pitbull for speed and effectivenessFreebird with a couple more passes matches the same result, but for everything else, it’s a landslide for the freebird. And now I can cut my nose hair and trim my mustache out my mouth? Bruh, just take my money.

Perfect shaver but does it last
This shaver is one of the best I've ever used. The ease at which it shaves is amazing. It's quick and not awkward to hold. The ability to bring in shower is an absolute game changer had it makes for a more enjoyable process and makes cleaning it that much easier. The only downside I have is that 4 months later it will randomly turn off and not back on for a couple minutes. I'm trying to search for my Warrenty because I love this shaver but I'm nervous about longevity.

OK, but flawed
I used this shaver for 2 weeks. During that time I contacted Freebird several times regarding best use and maintenance. Their response was nearly instantaneous, friendly and helpful. But, finally, the shaver just did not work for me. I have tried various other handheld rotary head shavers and found them to generally fail pretty quickly, or be otherwise unsatisfactory. I read about how Freebird developed the PRO as an upgrade to the earlier Flex, and was hopeful. The comparison I made was to a Panasonic Arc 5, a device that the maker does not even recommend for head shaving, but which actually does an excellent job. Its problem is that shape of the shaving head is more suited to the flatter planes of the face than the curves of the scalp, so it just takes longer. The PRO looks to be well constructed although, except for the blade beads it’s mostly plastic. Here’s where the PRO was lacking for me:1. Its shave is just not nearly as close as the Arc 5, even with repeated passes2. The head assembly did not flex as much as others I’ve tried. At times, instead of cradling my head, it felt as though it was just sitting on top of it.3. Cleaning is more involved than I’m ready for. I put the basic head assembly under running water and a fair amount of gunk showed in sink water. But then, because there had been some recommendations that the head assembly needed to be disassembled, I did this, very carefully holding everything together, to running water over a freshly cleaned sink. More gunk. So, apparently this disassembly and cleaning needs to take place after every use. These spaces are incredibly tiny and it wouldn’t take much to affect performance. But because the PRO doesn’t cut too closely, I would need to use it daily. This coupled with the cleaning routine is just more hassle than I’m ready for. Finally, Freebird seems like a good company, except for their recommendation that the blade assembly be replaced after every 50 shaves. Either the blade assembly is not well made, or this is just a $ grab. I know of no other manufacturer of any similar device that would recommend replacement this frequently.

Love it!
Over the last 2+ decades I've used both a 0-guard electric razor and a straight blade to shave my head. Most recently it's been the razor, which I've been using for 8 or 9 years. Earlier this year I was injured and was unable to shave my head, so I picked up one of these things to keep my head tidy. I'm glad i did!Using this thing to shave is so much more convenient than the razor blade - I can shave on demand, with no need to shower and heat up my skin first. There's no mess from shaving cream and nothing to clean up after-the-fact... the hairs get caught into the shaving assembly (unlike using a zero guard electric). You can literally shave, fully dressed, and not worry about hair getting all over your clothes. The shave isn't quite smooth as shaving with a razor blade, but it's very close (way closer than using a 0 guard)... your head LOOKS clean shaved but if you touch it, it's like a 6 hour post shave roughness. I usually shave dry, but I think a wet shave might get closer. The convenience factor more than makes up for the slightly less smooth shave. One thing to note, if you're new to these kinds of devices - Clean out the blade assembly every few shaves, especially if you let your hair get a little longer between shaves. I tend to shave every-other-day and take mine completely apart and clean out the blades with a toothbrush (the cleaning brush that comes with the kit isn't great) every couple weeks, sometimes sooner, if I feel like the cut isn't great. On a support aspect - I had a problem with my device a few months after purchasing it - Freebird made it right, with very little hassle.
