My kid loves it
It’s a very cool gift for a kid that loves to build and create. My son is 12 and he very much enjoys it

A great kit and great customer service!
This was a Xmas gift for my 6-yr-old grandson. He loved this from the min he opened the box. He played with it for days until the wires to the power box came out. We weren't able to fix it because the box comes sealed. We requested a replacement which took a while to get here (from India!). We were astounded when it arrived in a box the same size as the orig, but with 2 replacement power boxes, other parts & further toys along with a "So sorry" written on a magnetic board. We were all very impressed and thank Butterfly Fields not only a great kit but also for their great customer service!

Better than I expected
This one was a big hit with my 7yr old. He is a little engineer and we have gotten a lot of different engineering and building kits over the years. This one I like because he could do almost all of it by himself. The activities were fun and engaging. There is a battery and a switch and a motor, and then a bunch of different attachments for him to make a bunch of small machines. Vacuum, dryer, massager, fan, motor boat...those are some I can remember. Overall, a good price for fun activities he could do himself, learn some concepts, and take up severals days of engagement.

Instructional manual needs revisiting... but lots of fun!
I gifted this set to my 8 year old grandson for Christmas. He was so very excited about it. When I received the box, it was taped closed but some very small nuts and screws fell out. I thought that was strange. When he opened it, it appeared to be new but there were other very small items loose within. As we did one of the structures we noticed that some of the directions (which are mostly pictures- which is great) were incorrect. We also noticed that the material list was not accurate. When he did the next project, again, instructions were off. He was able to work through building both items but I highly suggest the company revisit the manual. It is for this reason I have it 4 stars.

Lots of learning
This is a great buy. My kids have enjoyed putting these together. So much learning when doing hands on project. Highly recommend this.

Fun, but not the best quality
I gave this to my six-year-old nephew. He did enjoy the concept of the stem activities, but he did have difficulty finding the pieces. There were a lot of pieces that looked alike, and weren’t labeled effectively. The quality isn’t the best. It is tough to attach things together, without it falling apart. We follow the directions in the booklet, but when trying to detach the pieces, some things were falling apart. I had to personally get my hot glue gun to fix some of the items in the kit. There were also some activities in the booklet that did not work effectively, so overall, I would rate this a three out of five stars. Quality could be improved, like the foam pieces, and wooden paddles. But other lessons were fun. You could even make a massage gun and a fan! Only thing is, for every lesson/activity that you do, you have to deconstruct it, in order to make a different activity. Almost all of the activities use the same motor, and paddle.

Battery pack is fragile
Nice kit for the price, but the battery pack wires are fragile, and once one of them rips out, the entire kit becomes useless. UPDATE: The seller got in touch with me and sent over two replacement packs, free of charge, so I'm updating the review to 5 stars to reflect the fact that they stood behind their product.

Pieces don’t fit together, bad instructions
Terrible! Doesn’t work! First issue was the instructions just have pictures and don’t truly label the pieces - not a huge deal, they’re all simple enough projects. First we tried the balloon boat. The pieces were slightly different than the pieces in the pictures but we figured it out - the directions talk about angling the straw to change the direction of the boat - but the hole in the boat is straight up and down, our straw could not be angled no matter how much we tried, and our boat went nowhere! Then we tried the motorized boat. Small issue, the cutouts are slightly different than pictured, as is the design of the motor. Now the big issue - We got it all assembled and my daughter was having a hard time attaching the propeller straw to the motor. I figured it just needed to be shoved on there tight, so I tried and tried and no matter what, it falls off. I tried electrical tape, it falls off. Looking through the instructions, this setup (the straw + motor) is used in most of the projects! So these components not fitting together is a huge deal. I hot glued them and it looks like it might hold for a little while under very gentle pressure, but really this is ridiculous. Waste of money, disappointed kids, and discouraged mom. Don’t waste your time and money on this poorly designed kit.

Expensive but excellent
Very expensive for what it is made of, but overall good quality. Some parts will break easily, so be ready for that.

Great product
Although this kit states it is aimed for ages 6-12 years I am sure there are many adults out there just like me who would just love this product to tinker with. The box is little more than the size of a packed away chess set yet the contents inside are sufficient to build numerous different projects enough to keep any individual busy for a considerable time. At the lower end of the age spectrum, I would suggest adult supervision as younger children may find it a bit overwhelming. This kit is great for getting the younger generation off the couch and away from their tablets and smart phones to create something worthwhile that they can actually see working. These types of kits are often the spark that creates an interest in younger minds that lead onto them starting a career in electronics or engineering in later life. I myself had an electronics kit as a child which led me into electronical engineering as an adult and the temptation to try this kit out. Definitely recommend this product for any child (or adult) who is showing a flare for tinkering with things or has a creative mind.
