I highly recommend this camera.
We went on a Europe tour for a month. I purchased this camera for our trip of a life time. I have fallen in love with the B500. The 40 X magnification was a life saver. I took pictures of castles from a cruise on the Rhine. I was able to bring them in and get fantastic photos. The B500 camera took pictures quickly which was wonderful when we were on bus tours. At first I was frustrated because it kept going to sleep on me until a friend changed the sleep time to 5 minutes instead of 2 minutes. My only complaint would be that the record button is in an awkward place. While holding the camera I constantly rested my thumb on the record button. I would think I was taking a picture and found I was making a recording. I tried holding it differently but kept forgetting and hitting the record button. I bought a 128 GB card and since I took 3460 photos I guess hitting the record button didn't slow me down! I would encourage anyone to purchase this camera. I will have treasured memories for years.

Outstanding Value
This camera is the bomb. It has every feature I wanted, and none that I didn't. It's easy to use and produces beautiful pictures. I'd been so frustrated lately trying to find a simple point-and-shoot that wasn't overloaded with gimmicky features. I used to be a professional photographer and I'd always used Canon equipment (my first was a 1981 AE-1 Program), but lately I've been thoroughly disappointed with the Canon point-and-shoot cameras I've tried. They rely WAY too much on wi-fi and Bluetooth features and tons of onboard software that is buggy, slow, and frequently nonfunctional. I don't need any of that--give me a camera that's geared toward gorgeous photos and simple controls, and just a USB cable for download. (This camera does use Nikon's Snapbridge app, which I have not set up because I don't care.) This is my first Nikon, and all I can say is, what took me so long? It not only takes stunning photos but is a work of art in and of itself. Could not be happier at this price point.

A very good camera for the price
I am mostly writing this review for the people that have had trouble connecting the phone to a smart device to transfer the pictures. The camera is a good camera. It has a glass zoom lens. It's a good zoom lens. It takes good pictures. At the price point you really can't beat it for picture quality. And features. Now to the wireless... It does wirelessly link to anything. But you absolutely have to install the snapbridge app on the device you're trying to link two. That's available for the Apple iPhone or in the Android store. I have personally tried it with a Samsung S7 and a Kindle Fire 8.0 with the Google Play Store work around installed. It will connect with your smart devices. But your smart devices need to be running snapbridge. Snapbridge at this point is an inexcusable bad and clunky app. But truth be told, it will get the job done. And you always have the cable in her face from the camera if you can't figure it out.Mine came with four double A Copper Top name brand batteries. Not sure if this is standard or not. But definitely no memory card. It comes with the batteries, the strap in the lens cap and that's it. You'll need to buy a memory card. Also the case. And install snap Bridge

Nikon COOLPIX B500 (Red) Camera
We have just opened the box and used this camera for the first time, bought this to keep photography simple and fun (compared to complex DSLRs and carrying multiple lenses all over the world). Father and Mothers with children will love the simple point-n-shoot features, and also pay high attention to their beloved children (as they all deserve). Yes, there are really advanced cameras available, but our decision to buy was based on simplicity (and not complexity). We bought this camera as a packaged deal with 64 GB Samsung memory card and camera case. All perfect so far, but we are leaving for Hawaii vacation for 2 weeks and will have ample opportunity to use most feature and assess comprehensive performance. So hang in for a follow-up review. However, initial (out-of-box) quality and performance is a 'no-brainer' and you do not have to read 50 pages of manual. As mentioned earlier, this is great for families with young kids and pets, especially while traveling as camera size is just about perfect.I highly recommend this camera for folks still believing in 'simple living, high thinking.'

Camera is not working
When I turn the camera on it shows an error "mode dial is not in the proper position" but the mode dial is already set to a single mode. So, for what I read there is something wrong with the circuitry or physical construction of the dial -- it isn't recognizing that the dial is set to a mode already in which case, it doesn't work

fantastic camera purchased used
first of all this was purchased from good stuff who stated the quality was good. The quality was in fact perfect! they stated it would come with the memory card and batteries only but they also included the camera strap and lens cover so i was pleasantly surprised i did not have to buy these seperately. The price was unbelievable for the condition of the camera. i will certainly buy more items from Good Stuff. they are extremely fair and reputable.this is a camera that is very easy to use and still delivers very good quality picture and i have in fact already enlarged and framed 2 of my pictures with no loss of sharpness or quality. Very pleased with my purchase!
