DB462 DB+ Series 4" x 6" Coaxial Speaker for Car & Marine, 2-Way Boat & Car Audio Speaker, 50-22kHz Frequency Response, Polypropylene Woofer Cone & 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeter, Easy Installation

I installed these in my Jeep YJ. NO, they are NOT easy to install. Not the speakers fault, it's the Jeep's fault.... moving on; These speakers have been abused and they still keep ticking. They sound great, even with the doors and top off at 55mph. At the moment, they are caked with mud. But they still work! Says a lot about them.

I installed these in my 93 Wrangler, if you are not familiar with jeeps they are noisy especially after lift kit 31'' tires and naked interior. These speakers throw a lot of sound with surpringly good lows, highs surpassed my expectations. They are paired with 6x9 Pile marine speakers in the rear working together they provide full rich sound which drowns out the majority of road noise. I bought these for the marine rating I spend a lot of time on the beach with my jeep hopefully these will stand up to the elements as stated. Install is a pain; speakers in jeeps of this vintage seem to have been an afterthought.

These speakers were fairly easy to install but the holes didn’t match up completely with my car. They have already been rained on and have no sound difference whatsoever

The dash speakers in my YJ had been replaced at some point in its life but were blown when I got it. These aren’t a perfect match with the mounting studs but line up good enough to mount on two of the retainers. Install is a pain in the butt, as a YJ dash has to be pulled back to install (Jeep’s poor design) and windshield and roll bar has to be unbolted for that to happen. The sound isn’t bad from these speakers, though the highs and mid bass is where they sound the best. I have noticed that the lower bass notes at a medium to higher volume causes a lot of distortion. I’m going to install bass blockers on them and block the low notes to hopefully cure this issue. After all it’s a Jeep, I need to be able to play high volume so I can hear the music when top and doors are off and I have wind and road noise to compete with. Update March 8th 2022: I returned the original set due to the driver side speaker blowing and sounding terrible on bass notes. The exchange was free and a pleasant experience. Replacing YJ dash speakers isn’t all that fun (removing the dash) but I got it done in a hour this time and wasn’t to bad. The new set sounds great, but I intend to install bass blocker filters to protect them from really low bass notes (hopefully they won’t blow if I do).

These speakers are as described. The installation was very easy and the sound is great. Great speakers for the price.
