Or the fawn color, to try and match my English tan/light brown wallet?** A: It depends upon whether or not you need to renew the color. I would choose Saphirp Renovateur over neutral in that case. It does more to hydrate and condition the leather. Light brown is what I use on my walnut Allen Edmonds shoes and that will work for your purpose as well. I **Q: Is this worth the extra cost? I already have a cordovan polish cream from Allen Edmonds.** A: This is a great product but it is no better than Allen Edmonds. **Q: How often should you use this? I thought cordovan was known for being low maintenance and pretty much indestructible.** A: I would agree with your statement that cordovan really just needs a good brushing and because of the oils in the leather responds well to just a good brushing. I mainly use rarely (maybe a couple times a year) for nicks/scratches and any water marks using the tiniest amount. And from what I understand cordovan doesn't do well with too much cream and or polish and actually less is way better. I specially chose Saphir as opposed to say Kiwi because Saphir claims to have more natural solvents, etc and plus cordovan is expensive and I figured if I can afford an expensive pair of shoes I should also correlate and use a well known premium care product. My shoes shine to a mirror finish with just a brushing and a tack cloth. **Q: Is the black color only for black shell cordovan?** A: Yes! As this has pigment in it so it will probably darken any other colour. It is a different story if you are trying to do some shading on the toe or heel of a brown, dark brown, navy or burgundy shoe. Then you can use it. Highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing shell cordovan polishing cream!!! *by on Reviewed in the United States September 28, 2022* I use this on proper AND reversed shell cordovan to maintain a mirror like finish and shine on the proper side of the shell, as well as to preserve the stamps and shine the reversed side of shell!!!A little bit pricey, but still highly recommended!!! A LITTLE bit goes a LONG way and this 75ml jar should last you years to come.It's VERY easy to use too, and not nearly as hard/tough to buff off when necessary as some other creams I've used!!! Just LIGHTLY apply with a finger or cotton rag in a circular motion, allow 5-15 minutes at minimum to dry (the longer the better IMO so it gets DEEP into the fine pores that shell cordovan have, so it can nourish it properly), then hit it with your horsehair brush. If you can SEE lines from the horsehair brush, i recommend buffing it out with a 100% cotton rag until the horsehair brush lines DO disappear, and finish it off with the horsehair brush, and that's it. DONE!!!I have a VERY large shell cordovan collection of over 75+ wallets and 6-8 watch straps, and this stuff keeps everything looking phenomenal and always at it's best.
