I ordered this product as a massage table topper since my massage table is a little too firm for some of my clients. It arrived on time with appropriate packing. It was easier to unpack and handle than other foam mattress toppers I had previously purchased from another manufacturer some years ago (Novafoam, whose products I love) because it did not cling as much. Also, it did not have unpleasant smell, so I could lie on it right away — some forms need to be aired overnight to rid of their strong smell. This foam is 2-inch thick and my Novafoam products are 3-inch thick. Maybe for that reason, I found this product firmer than the others when placed on the same surface. Personally, to sleep on overnight, I like the extra give that the 3-inch products provide, but I can see people loving this 2-inch product for its sufficient comfort and support (in fact, I may be totally okay with this if I had not had the chance to compare). If you are placing it on a softer surface than my massage table, this firmness may work to your benefit. Additional bonus is that it is not too heavy, not too bulky so it is quite easy to handle. I considered many other options before I chose this product (thickness, surface contour, price, etc). I am very pleased with my choice.

Everyone has a different idea or feeling of what firm feels like or what is too soft… so it’s really all subjective to the individual. But maybe this will help someone make a decision. I have a very bad back and a lot of pain. All I need is a very firm mattress with something on top to soften the blow for my joints. Don’t want to sink into something that makes a hole because that also causes pain. Don’t want something that is going to create a hot sleeping area. It was very difficult to find a mattress that met all my requirements. So we purchased a very firm mattress - as in ‘hard as a rock’ - with the plan to put a mattress topper on it. Basically to create a bed that works for me. The first topper was a 3 inch and it was WAY too soft. That was returned. Then I purchased this one. 2 inches is perfect. I am not sure if it’s because of the type of foam or the thickness of the foam, but this topper doesn’t leave a dent that you have to roll out of ( I am a small person) It doesn’t get hot like the first topper did either. The first one said it was memory foam and this one says its ViscoSoft . Whatever the difference is, it’s not as hot. But, I do have two mattress covers over the top of the mattress topper. I am not sure if having two coverings over it is making the difference in sleep temperature or not. This one seems to be just right. I am not waking up all night in pain, or waking up sweating. And I feel a lot better when I get up and move around in the morning. I do not feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud… I’d never expect that from any product. But I am extremely comfortable for the first time in about a year when it was time to buy a new bed. I knew it was going to be nothing but trouble when the old bed wore out. After 1 full year, 4 new mattresses, a lot of physical pain, and 2 mattress toppers… I have finally found the right combination. Rock hard memory foam mattress, and THIS mattress topper I would definitely buy this one again.

I would have given 5 stars, but one side has yellow and blue stains. I was concerned and contacted customer service, their response was: "... is completely normal and just some of the colors that are used in the process that didn’t get blended as well. It will not affect the performance of the topper at all." 2" is perfect on top of a semi-firm mattress and it is now very comfortable, with no heat issues. Made in USA!
