Motors
I love the price since I basically have to buy everything for my classroom. The wires are really thin, so I bought wires with alligator clips so it is easier for the students to use. The tabs on the motors where you soder the wires are very thin. They are thinner than the ones on the motors I am replacing because the students broke the tabs off. I think these would be fine if they are building something that needs a motor in it so the tabs won't be worked too often. I'm using it for teaching about electromagnetic energy, so they are going to be going in and out of circuits pretty regularly. I like the little stands that came with them. My students couldn't get them on, so I put the motors all in their stands. I'll adjust my rating if I discover I am wrong about those thin, little tabs.

Simple and safe
I ordered these to make 'explorer' bots (essentially brush bots, but using a cup as the based instead of a brush). Over the course of a single evening, my wife and I put together 72 of the bots using a little solder and hot glue for each one.Of those 72, only one had a problem that couldn't be fixed in under a minute - after being used by a full vacation bible school worth of kids. The one that wouldn't work is because the glue held it together after the solder joint had broken, so it needs to be resoldered.I would definitely purchase more of these for a project like this. Very simple to set-up, the joy sparked in the kids was phenomenal, and they stand up to kindergarten through fifth grade kids very well.

Not so simple
Using electric tape did not work at all to assemble. Hard to clean wire too, it shreds. Had to get into soldering, connection only worked then. For a class of students all mechanism had to be pre-assembled by soldering so they didn't have much to do. Yes motor did heat up after 30 minutes use but that was OK, just don't use long.

Need to solder so line one up ahead of time!
I bought for my class but could not use. Need soldering-which I was warned about. I have them for next year’s projects...

Excellent for STEM projects
I used these as a part of a kit for a wind turbine class for kindergartners. It worked great and was hassle free to attach the fans to the mini motor. The kids had fun.
