Compact, light, trouble free, lots of vacuum.

Was what we needed for our mini split installation. No issues but the unit is very light weight plastic and pot metal. Not sure how much pressure it will take. Reasonably priced solution for our project.

I bought this for the occasional project where I need to vacuum bubbles out of silicone or epoxy and it works well. I actually removed the "mechanism" out of the case for simplicity, and mounted it to the side of my vacuum pot. It's just a simple all plastic venturi vacuum pump so it is quite minimal inside. I bought this over an actual vacuum pump, as I already have a compressor, and don't need to have it operated for long periods so I didn't need a dedicated vacuum pump. I've got a 100 gallon compressor, and I think my compressor is a bit on the weak side, so after like 10 minutes of constant flow / vacuum, I start to drop pressure in my tank, and this pump needs 90 psi of inlet pressure to maintain the 30 psi of vacuum. I'm going to add a valve between my pump and tank, so that once I reach my 30 psi of vacuum, I'll hold the internal vacuum and recharge my compressor.

I have had this pump for about 6 months now and have been really struggling if I should do a review on it or not. I use it for pulling a vacuum on a small vacuum chamber and it works ok, If you have a air compressor that puts out a lot of volume. I would not use this pump for evacuating a A/C system unless you have a air compressor that puts out more than 4.2cfm @90psi. Its pointless to buy this pump because it's cheap but then you have to buy a bigger compressor just to run it. I would say if you have a 6-7cfm at 90psi compressor you could run this pump for a long enough time to properly evacuate a A/C system.

I have been using this product for about a year and it is absolutely essential for a mobile technician that does this for a living and do not have a electrical power available, it just works, my compressor is regulated to 90-psi and i get 25 - 27 inch pounds of vacuum. If at least 25 inch pounds of vacuum is not achieved you may have a leak in the system which is easily verified with a ten minutes vacuum test and see if its holds vacuum, you must use quality gauges for a accurate test result, in a perfect world you don't loose any vacuum but if the lost is minimum 2 inch pounds i am good with it, if you loose more than 2 inch pounds you may have a leak especially if it is a rapid lost. it gets the job done period.

You need 29.92 in of Mercury measurement to boil water at 70° f you need 26.74 in of mercury, as a measurement, to boil water at 60° f and here's where the problem lies. I can't pull any more than about 26 in of mercury with this at 150 psi shop air. I can only pull 23 to 24 in of Mercury at the 90 PSI that all these tools will say is the max pressure that you can use on them. Which means that you won't be able to get all the moisture out of the system, which means this tool is okay for getting the bulk of the moisture out of the system let's say after you replace a component and Atmospheric air is able to rush into everything, but not everything. Had to go and purchase an electric vacuum pump to be able to properly vacuum a system, and I'm going to recommend everyone stays away from this.

As a field tech on heavy equipment, our shop has a similar one from MATCO tools. This one gets down to about -25HG. MATCO one struggles to get to -20HG. Well worth the money as long as you have enough air to support it! Would buy again!

This is a aspirated vacuum requiring constant air supply. It does pull a sufficient vacuum, however vacuum I lost when air supply is lost.
