Great powerhead for the price + help for heating the water a bit
Great and simple powerhead. The impeller shaft is the only moving part. It can be use for aquariums up to 50 gallons. my aquariums are about 30 gallons and this powerhead works wonders. I have attached it to a sponge filter and since then, my water is crystal clear and the fish are much more active. There is a little plastic tubing you can attach to the powerhead and the other end sticking out of the aquarium. This will add a lot of air to the outlet of the powerhead, thus providing a much increased aeration in the water. You to make sure the powerhead is always under water, as the water is cooling the powerhead. If the powerhead is allowed to be above the water, it will get hot and this might damage it.Talking about cooling the powerhead, the power head is only using 8 watts. This almost nothing, but it will help to rise the water temperature of the aquarium. This is beneficial for most tropical fish. All my aquariums are in my basement which is always cool, even during the hot summer days. I always have to keep the place heated. All my aquariums filters are air operated with a home made air pump that uses over 400 watts 24/7. I have 20 aquariums ranging from 10 to 50 gallons.I have noticed that the aquarium's water in the tank where the powerhead is, is about 5 degrees warmer than its neighbor. All that because the powerhead is warming the water just a little bit for its cooling. I am thinking about getting enough powerheads for all my aquariums. then I will not need to keep the basement heated that much, maybe just during winter. Also 20 powerhead at 8 watts each will consume about 160 watts total instead of the 400 watts of my current air pump. A lot of saving can thus be made.Without mentioning that the powerhead moves much more water than my air operated filters. Thus having cleaner water and happier fish in my aquariums. Please click thumbs up if this review was helpful to you.

Very nice powerhead.
A little strong for smaller tank but works great for my 29 gallons. Great price and fit perfectly with water/soda bottles for DIY filters. Also work with my siphon tubing so I can easily do water change with it instead of siphoning manually.

Leaking Voltage! Air intake is sidways and this can not be changed. need titanium ground probe
If you want to zap your fish this pump is for you.Titanium ground probe is a must if you want to use this pumpBought two of them and they both leak AC voltage.Although the box and the manual shows (see picture) venturi air intake should be facing straight up like on the box picture, but for some reason it is sideways and there is no way to make it right way up. I don't know if they selling pumps with parts refused by manufacturing or what not.I actually asked a question about venturi facing up, prior to making a purchase and got an answer that it can be changed, but it can not.

makes a good cleaning tool for my 50 gallon planted tank
Made a cleaner out of it. It adapts to a pop bottle. I cut the end off the bottle and filled the bottle with polyester. makes a good cleaning tool for my 50 gallon planted tank.

Silencieux, bon prix, bonne puissance
