I returned this item 2 days after I received it and got a full refund immediately

Q: Is the wooden base removable and can it be hung from a ceiling?

No. The base is not removable. It’s not very heavy though and could probably be hung from a ceiling although it probably wouldn’t look that great with the base attached.
