This thing gave a thrifted coat new life
This thing does a great job of removing pills from fabric. I picked up a heavily pilled coat from a thrift store hoping that I could restore it to wearable condition. I was a little skeptical, a little worried I'd damage the fabric... but it was a low stakes rescued garment, so I figured I'd give it a try. I got this on sale for $8.99 and the coat only cost me a few bucks second hand. The results? Totally worth it. The pills are greatly reduced and the coat looks substantially better. Not completely pill-less or like new, but so much better. It's 100% wearable for me now. One garment successfully rescued! I can see myself using this a lot in the future since I thrift often. For reference, the fabric I tried it on is a pretty thick acrylic polyester wool blend. It feels kind of like fleece or felt. I tried the shaver with various guard settings, but ended up removing the guard for this application. I'd recommend starting with the guard as high as possible and first test it in an inconspicuous place on the garment to make sure you get the results you're after. Adjust as needed.

Effective and Dependable Shaver with Easy Smart Features
This fabric shaver and lint remover is extremely effective and easy to use. Its form factor makes it easy to hold, very intuitive to use for young and old (especially our collegians and young adults), and compact enough to pack for travel. Its light weight allows gliding along fabric or clothing with ease. It has been useful for removing extreme pilling for fabric covered furniture and was able to revert it to a smooth almost new appearance. Our experience with it also extends to clothing, like sweatshirts and polyester shirts that were no longer smooth from pilling. The shaver removed the pilling effectively without any evidence left on the clothing that something was done with it. It is very gentle, but effective on our clothing, leaving it smooth and soft. The 3 settings adjust the depth by turning the outer ring to adapt to how close the lint is that is to be removed. This is our first shaver and lint remover. We have found that running the shaver across in small circular motions seems to be most effective to remove the lint and pilling. To be gentle, we have placed the clothing on a bed or couch or soft surface, which has seemed to also allow for more coverage. The pilling that is shaved off goes into the compartment in the handle, which is ample for many iterations of shaving and also easily emptied once full. We have used it for more than a year, and the battery continues to be strong. During operation, it runs at a low volume. We like it that it is cordless without worry the reach of a cord or having to plug it in. It can be taken anywhere, including where the furniture is, where the laundry is, or even on a trip just in case something prone to pill needs a touch-up. Its design is simple, it is robust and is a workhorse for removing pilling and lint. The Conair Fabric Shaver and Lint Remover is practical, compact, and effective.

Functional, with some concerns
Works reasonably well, once I figured out how best to use it. It didnโt get my fabrics โas good as new,โ but it certainly made them feel much smoother. Some tips: 1) Be patient. It wonโt get all the pills in one go, so youโre going to have to run it over the fabric again and again. 2) Go from multiple angles. Itโs helpful to run your hand along the fabric to figure out from which direction to attack. 3) It works much better on thicker fabric. If youโre shaving a thinner fabric, I found folding it over helped a lot. There are also two annoyances I found. Firstly, the fuzz does not get entirely sucked into the device, and within a few seconds of use, the shaver was covered with bits of fabric. Luckily it comes off with a light wipe with a tissue. Secondly, it occasionally started to smell like something was burning, but if I turned off the shaver, the smell would dissipate within a few seconds. Itโs also a good time to empty out the shaver. Photos are the before and after of the sleeve of a thick sweater and a thin hoodie.

Works exceptionally great. Handy - love it
I would say ut shaves lint very well. The lint comes again after 2-3 weeks but itโs worth it. I bought new clothes and lint comes on it even from big brands. This remover is saving me alot of money. After shave the clothes look new again. The battery last pretty longer than expected. And size is quite handy. Speed can be improved but overall it was better than others i used in past.

Get this fabric shaver!
I started using this to help with my long pants and sweaters. I was afraid it would shred the material, but it doesn't at all. It was very easy to ise and didn't hurt my hand. I apprecite how durable it is and doesn't ruin my clothes. The battery last a while and it is easy to pack in my bag. It is a good value.

Great household product
I recently started using the Conair Fabric Shaver and Lint Remover, and overall itโs a really helpful little tool that does exactly what itโs meant to do. The biggest benefit is how quickly it brings clothes back to life. Sweaters, leggings, and even blankets that looked worn or fuzzy instantly look smoother and more refreshed after just a few passes. Itโs especially satisfying on older clothing you donโt want to throw away yet. Itโs also very easy to use. The grip feels comfortable in the hand, and itโs straightforwardโjust turn it on and glide it over the fabric. The shaving head covers a decent area, so it doesnโt take long to see results. The lint catcher is simple to empty, which makes cleanup quick and hassle-free . Another thing I like is that it feels safe on most fabrics when used properly. It removes pills without cutting or damaging the material, which gives me more confidence using it on different types of clothing and even furniture. One small downside is that it can fill up pretty quickly if youโre working on heavily pilled fabric, so you may need to empty it a couple of times during use. It also runs on batteries (on most models), so youโll want to keep spares on hand for consistent power. Overall, this is a simple but very effective household tool. Itโs not fancy, but it absolutely does its jobโhelping clothes look cleaner, newer, and well cared for with very little effort.

Does an okay job, could do better for the price.
Feels like a cheap product. Does its job alright, but misses a lot of smaller pills even in its lowest, unprotected state.

Saved My Sweater!
Conair's Fabric Defuzzer is a must-have for everyone's laundry room. I tested this little gizmo out on the sweater that I wore the day I met my fiance. It was horrifying to look at: the sweater was covered in lint and was pilling awfully. I couldn't wear it like this, but I couldn't bear to part with it for sentimental reasons. The Conair Defuzzer is battery operated. No real point in telling you this, except to say that this device does not come with batteries. You will need to have 2 AA batteries and install them. Look for the sticker inside the battery compartment to know which end faces which way when you drop in the AAs. I did not adjust the distance controller when I used the defuzzer for the first time. I used the device "just out of the box" with its preset settings. You want to make sure you work with the garment laid out on a smooth, hard surface. I used the kitchen table. I began by making short, light strokes going down "the grain" of the fabric. I had to apply a bit more pressure because my sweater has a cable knit pattern that creates areas that are higher than others. It worked insanely well! I started to think about everyone in the house..... they all have closets.... they all wear clothes... Could I get others to give me THEIR clothes to fix? Yeah, it was addictive for the first ten exhilarating minutes. I watched as the defuzzer transformed my sweater from unwearable to wearable! I kept working in this manner, making longer strokes down the garment to remove the pilling and lint. If a section had a stubborn piece of lint, I didn't make a sweep over it, I gently but firmly pressed the defuzzer down on that spot until the offender was lifted off (about one or two presses did the trick.) My sweater has delicate, rope-like knit sections that give it a lacy look. I was uneasy using the defuzzer on areas this delicate. I couldn't wear a half clean sweater, though! I took those areas and laid them over the top of my open hand and very gently used the defuzzer to remove the lint. NOTE: You want to make sure that any loose threads are secured or avoided altogether, otherwise the defuzzer may accidentally pull the fabric and make it worse. On a heavily pilled garment, you'll hear the units motor starts to slow down a little bit. You may notice, as I did, that the unit is not working as well. This is the point where you stop, turn the unit off, and clean the lint out of it. There's nothing wrong with the defuzzer, it just needs the fabric remnants cleaned out of it. Pull down the detachable lint collector and shake it out. Grab the stuff that's blocking up the opening to the unit, too. There will probably be a lot stuck there. When you're all finished restoring your garment, make sure to clean the defuzzer out one more time. I used a q-tip to gently get the lint that was clumped up inside the unit. Next, go outside, turn the device on, and let it blow out any remaining lint inside that you couldn't reach with the q-tip. (Make sure you don't have the unit pointed toward your face. I didn't do that. I SWEAR I didn't do that....) Place the lint collector back on the device and wipe the outside plastic part down with a soft cloth before storing it in its original packaging and putting it away. You may want to remove the batteries as well, and store them in a plastic sandwich baggie, placing those in the box, too, if you think you won't be using the defuzzer for a long period of time. Overall grade: for the money spent, A+! Wish I'd bought this sooner!
