I have no idea why they titled this curl bar as "York Fitness 5kg EZ Curl Spinlock Bar" which implies it can take 5Kg, while in reality it can take 125Kg.They should change the title to say '125Kg curl bar'.EDIT: Quoting a commenter: "lmao its because it weighs 5kg dude use your brain" - Yes, i feel like a goofball now. I should have known that!I'll just leave my stupidity up there on display because it's so dumb of me it's actually funny.Anyway, I bought myself another one of these after i gave my friend my old one when i was moving away around 10yrs ago, and i forgot how great the curl bar actually is. I'm so glad i got this again.I call the curl bar the 'all in one'. Now my long straight bar will sit on the sidelines from now on.You can easily lift heavier like you would lift dumbbells (obviously with both hands on the curl bar tho) and get more work into your biceps etc, plus you can still do squats as well.I easily recommend this bar to anyone, but more so to novices because as i said, i call the curl bar the all in one, so the fact a novice can just get this and lift it like they'd lift dumbbells or do squats with it, they don't have to fiddle about with setting up different bars, which in turn helps get their mind on the exercises and lift themselves out of any laziness that has set in, like, if it was changing bars all the time, they might otherwise not be bothered to.Seriously, grab yourself a curl bar if you're just starting out. And good luck with your health and fitness.

The handgrips are not the same on the item as they are in the pictures - as you can see in the photos I have uploaded/posted. This makes it difficult to have variation in the way you lift. Also, if you sweat a lot when working out, like most people do, then the grip is only in one area. "Not like in the pictures".The bar is ok, but it's misleading in the griping areas as on Amazon its a few places to grip but in the bar I have, it's only one place to grip... other than that, the bar is solid! Pity about the deceiving pictures though.

I have used this bar for a number of exercises (bench, squat, OHP, dead-lifts, rows etc) and have had no problems with the shape of the bar affecting my ability to perform these exercises, while I don't doubt that if truly perfect form is important to you then a straight bar would be better for most of these exercises, this bar is more than suitable for the purpose. Fantastic bar with plenty of strength, easy to grip and easy to add or remove plates. My only slight complaint is the knurling seems especially rough on this bar but it is nothing your hands wont get used to after a few uses.Pros:- Strong bar- Easy to grip- Easy to add/remove platesCons:- Slightly rougher knurling than similar bars

Very good product. I already had York dumbbells so this completed the set. It is surprisingly compact and I have found no trouble storing it. I have used a few different types of plates on this and all seem to have no issue, very sturdy spinlock collars are a blessing as with many other products they can often come undone. Surprisingly little packaging as it only came in a plastic cover but I would dread to think how much cardboard would go to waste if this were to come in a box. I would recommend giving the handles a wipe over every now and again as gunk can build up in the ridges but overall a very solid product.

Design of the bar itself is very good and it makes barbell curls much more comfortable and even helped me to fix some my overhead press form issues. Unfortunately the bar I received has really poor spinlocks which loosen very quickly (we’re talking during one set), so during tests I have to re-tighten them. Pretty disappointing considering the price and relatively reputable brand.

The bar is of solid construction and quite heavy in its own right. My dumbbell weights fit the bar, so they now have a duel use. My only criticism is that the locking nuts are a loose fit on the buttress thread of the bar and need to be tightened once in a while. I always check the nuts for security before each session anyway so I don't see it as an issue. All in all it does the job it was made for at a lower price than comparable bars, so I'm pleased with that.

I have used this bar for several workouts and it is PERFECT. No other word does it justice.This bar is great for biscep curls, reverse grip curls, pullovers, squats, military press, bench press. There is literally no excersise I have done where a straigh bar would have been better suited.Don't hesitate. It may not be the cheapest and it may be poorly packaged but it is an incredible bar. My single concern - it's not a concern rather something I've noticed - is that the grip wears down ever so slightly where you grip it most. Just something I've seen and has no reason for issue.

I'd bought some ProIron Cast Iron plates, and needed a decent Curl Bar to go with them (had a set of Dumbbell, just wanted this to accompany this set). I saw the reviews on this item & made my decision. I admit I was surprised it came delivered just in its polystyrene bag and nothing else, but I guess it was solid enough that no other wrapping / Protection was needed, and in the end it saved me time having to recycle a ton of cardboard! :)All in all excellent & solid quality - Very happy with it.
