Simple and basic โ works great
Well made of sturdy aluminum. Requires cutting to fit most doors. A Dremel with a Cut-off wheel for metal works nicely.Applying calk to the back when mounting ensures a watertight seal. My preference is DAP Dynaflex, as it's more durable than other forms of calk, including 100% silicone. After years of trying this kind or that, Dynaflex is now the only kind of calk I ever buyโperiod. Also, when using any sort of sealant/calk/etc, ensure the surfaces are very clean. Isopropyl alcohol is preferred, as it cleans well and leaves no residue, unlike many common household cleaners. When mounting, ensure there is clearance wherever the door will swing. You might want to use a couple small strips of duck tape to hold it in place until it's permanently attached. There was a big thunderstorm here today. Not a single drop made it inside the front door. YAY!!!

Does the job.
I was surprised how relatively sturdy this is. Installation went fine--i made my measurements and then trimmed it to length with a hacksaw. So far it's helping keep leakage from happening during big storms and is pretty solid. Overall a good buy as is similarly priced in brick and mortars.

Under door leak cured!
I have a double french door out to the deck, and each time it rains, water would seep in under the one door. Changed the sill seal - no luck. This was the solution. It keeps water away from sill, thus water cannot drip down door, under it, and seep over the sill and into the house. Just ordered another for other door, which seeped just a bit I noticed in last storm. It is easy to instal. Measure, trim to right length, drill holes and screw it on. The holes have some adjustment to them-which helped me when I noticed it was installed a little too low and was scraping the top of my sill. A " JUST RIGHT" solution for this problem!

Just what I needed for an exterior door
Something so simple yet functional. I had a makeshift plastic drip cap that was falling apart so after painting my exterior door I felt a more substantial replacement would be ideal. This can be purchased cheaper at any local hardware store but the fuel/time to get it allowed me to justify paying the premium. What I didnโt expect was that it arrived in a 5โ box. Cutting it to size was easy with a hacksaw and sandpaper the sharp edges. Screws are provided and install was easy.

Solved my water seepage issues!
Our patio door, which swings in, was the cause of water seeping into the basement when it rained hard. Water would flow down the door, then onto the threshold which does not have any way of draining except for down and into the basement. This drip cap seems to have fixed the issue. We only needed a small lip to get any water runoff to drip on the outside of the threshold where it could fall outside the house. This extends just far enough out to take care of this. Out of the box, it's a bit ugly, but I painted mine white to match the door

Good part, but a couple of irritating issues...
Good quality part. Should help keep wind-driven rain from penetrating the bottom seal of the door. But a couple of issues:1) the mounting holes are not equally spaced along the length. Not a functional issue, but why a random spacing?2) there are six mounting holes in the part, but they only give you five screws. What are the people at MD Building Products thinking?! Had to scrounge a suitable sixth screw.

Works fine
Just what I needed to cover a 3/4 inch gap at the bottom left of this used door. My wife bought the door from an antique dealer and had it installed on the shed attachment we converted into her artist studio. The door was severely warped and not installed well. I had to reposition the door frame and lock, put in new weather striping at the door bottom, caulked the window panes and sealed the paint with polyurethane coat, but still had water coming in when it rained. I added weather striping around the sides and top to the exterior, and this aluminum drip cap. Because of the large gap, I had to put a 1x2 inch cedar trim board behind the drip cap to bring it out far enough away from the inside edge of the threshold so that water coming off the drip cap would drip down onto the threshold and away from the door's bottom edge. Now we have a dry floor in the studio after it rains!

Keeps the water away from door seam
Worked as expected. I wish I have drilled the holes a small bit higher, I would have saved myself some sanding of the threashold. Over all it is a sturdy drip cap and looks like it will last a long time.
