Parker Jotter Royal Blue CT Ballpoint Pen, Blister pack

Parker Jotter is one of my all time favourite pens. Good weight and slim barrel makes it comfortable to hold and write with. Reasonable price is also a plus.

Does feel very light, making it feel cheaper. Person commented below saying that they received a plastic body pen but the item in the photo is what I received too and can confirm it is metal, not plastic (the plastic body jotters have a silver nib at the bottom). That said, can't fault them for thinking it's plastic as it doesn't look like metal. This also comes in hangsell packaging, which is listed in the description, not a box if anyone was planning on gifting and hoping for that. Definitely not worth it for full price. I bought at almost half the price and I still wouldn't really recommend since the chrome trim apparently comes off after a while.

It used to be that Parker jotters could be found everywhere, stationary stores, drug stores, college campus stores and the like. No they have all but disappeared from these locations. Sad. Those of us who still write and take a lot of notes have been stuck with the cheap plastic junk that has found its way in the market. They have to be sold a dozen at a time as that is only about a weeks worth. Yes there are a few fantastic pens if you are willing shell out a lot of cash. The Parkers are not quite the same as forty years ago. The plastic barrels can bend and the threads can strip. Overall today's are still better than most others. Great news is that Parker now has a full range of pens with metal barrels and caps. In addition to bright steel, the metal barrel come in dozen different. I need two for my work, blue and red. These are going to last. Priced from $7.00 to about $20.00, you can beat this pen.

This pen is exactly as advertised: an attractive, functional writing implement that does one thing, and does it well. It does appear to be all metal. I will note that the clip is very strong, and the shape of its backside gives it a grip that can be destructive to polo shirts made from more delicate fabrics, when constantly removing and replacing it over the course of the day. For this, I would deduct 7/16th of a star, but as we don't seem to be allowed to rate with fractional stars (note to Amazon: please get on this), I have rounded up. I would also like to note that the pen is not capable of NOT falling out of holes in pockets, being forgotten on counters, or evaporating into the ether on no notice. If Parker could somehow rectify this, either through the creation of reality-nullifying fields, or by giving the pen artificial intelligence and self-propulsion that allows it to find its owner, I would be happy as a clam, especially at its current price point, as I would never have to buy another. Until that time, I must sadly report that the pen is not perfect. I just hope that the people who found my previous Jotters are happy with them.
