Just wanting to confirm the full extended length, description says "37, is that accurate?

The K&M mic boom at it's full extension is a total of approximately 29" from the point at which the mic boom meets the stand to the threads where the mic clip is mounted. There is approximately 7.75" behind that point where the boom exits the stand clamp to the rear of the boom. Therefore, the entire length of the boom is approximately 37", but your mic reach will depend on the length of the microphone plus 29" from the point that the mic stand and boom meet. You will get close to a 37" reach, but at that length it is necessary to hang additional weight on the back of the boom if you have a heavy mic (or bungee cords to hold up a mic such as an Electrovoice RE-20). I have used mine with an EV RE-20 since 2018 and it has held up, but it has developed a slight bend from using it with the EV at extended lengths for days or weeks at a time.

In addition to zoom can the boom twist within the mount?

The boom can be moved left to right at any time. Up and down requires tightening and loosing. The small knobs for length allows for the mic to be be turned as needed.
