Is this one all plastic with no metal?** A: Actually, I own two of these...they came in a two-pack from a brick-and-mortar store. One has rusted because there is a small screw on the bottom and two small screws inside. I'm going to buy another one and hope it was an anomaly because these are really good brushes and hide the thing you don't want to see. The other one is still in great shape. And in response to others who say they get yucky, I only use them with a liquid gel cleanser in the toilet and make sure to swish it around before putting it back in the container. I also clean the container and brush from time to time with a bleach spray which works great. **Q: How stiff is the brush? i have a libman caddy and the brush is waaay too stiff - i want some give as i'm scrubbing. thx!** A: The bristles seem to be a medium stiffness - effective yet have some give. I think it's a really good brush. **Q: Can you replace the brush head on this new design?** A: Yes you can. I got a double pack that came with spare brushes. The screw on & off. **Q: What's the significance of part of the brush being blue?** A: The blue bristles are a little bit stiffer than the white ones—helpful for cleaning up under the rim. OXO also now makes a set with a newly designed caddy and brush (with a “newly designed” price—more expensive, of course!). I’m amazed how long these brushes last. I bought 2 of these in 2016, and only replaced the brush head once on one and twice in the other. I’m having to buy a new caddy as one of them got kicked then dropped when I was cleaning it and it no longer stays closed. The other one which was not mishandled is still going strong. I’ve had no problems with rusting or leaking/stains on my floors, either. When these were new, for about the first 6 months, I had some paper towels folded up underneath them, “testing” to make sure no water leaked out the bottom after using them before I trusted them, however. Most of the ones I physically saw were cheaper and that was obvious in the flimsy handles and bases. Cleaning a toilet is unpleasant enough without having to deal with a cheap flimsy brush. I've been able to count on OXO to at least TRY to design a product which works well. They don't always score 100% but their products are almost always near the top. They put more emphasis on their products being functional than being cheap, and should be applauded for that.What I like about this product: The handle is heavy solid plastic which seems to be strong enough to take a reasonable amount of pressure without flexing or threatening to break. The top of the handle is smooth and feels good in the hand (it's the only part that you need to touch). The brush has bristles which are quite stiff, but with the right amount of flex. The brush head is replaceable (replacements available here on Amazon). The base works effortlessly — pull the brush straight up and the base flips open and stays open. When the brush is replaced the base closes smoothly. The brush sits in a platform within the base so that any drips are collected in the bottom of the base and evaporate easily. The base has four shallow bumps which serve as feet. At first I thought I'd add rubber feet, but then realized that the plastic bumps allow the base to slide easily so if you want to keep it against the wall or in a corner it is easy to slide around by the handle while it's in the base. At this point I can't see any improvements needed.A couple of recommendations I gathered from reading other reviews before I made the purchase: The brush does unscrew from the handle for replacement, but it is screwed on very tight — unscrew the brush when you first get it (while it's still clean) so you can see how it unscrews, then screw it back on but not quite as tightly. There were many complaints about the label being hard to remove — I think OXO must have listened to the complaints because the label I received is the easily peeled off plastic type which left no residue. It's always best to peel off any label very slowly to avoid tearing and to give the adhesive time to release, though I see no problem with this label and there's no need for Goo-Gone.In reading through some reviews and questions for other toilet brushes, I ran across a question someone asked that I thought was funny... though it made me gag a little: The question was — to clean the toilet brush, is it okay to put it in the dishwasher?!! Gee! ### ⭐ The chronicles of the toilet water *by on Reviewed in the Netherlands 15 March 2025* In theory it is a great product. When you start using it, you accept that it does not have a water catcher and you try your best to remove as much of the toilet water from the brush each time you use it. You try different techniques; slamming it against the toilet seat, shaking it viciously above the toilet.. but no matter what you try, toilet water ends up in the toilet brush holder. You think all is fine, but once in a while the brush holder fills with just enough toilet water that any slight movement to the toilet brush holder gets toilet water on the floor. Now you are in a dilemma; do ignore it and hope the water magically evaporates or do you bring out your amazing balancing skills so you can pick it up and hover it over the toilet and pour it out. Jokes on you, there is toilet water everywhere. Neither solutions brings joy in using the toilet brush.
