Rankie2-Pack USB C 3.0 Adapter Hi-Speed USB Type C to USB Type A

These are AWESOME. I got a couple of these in 2018 and have primarily kept them in my backpack, taking them everywhere my MacBook Pro has gone for the past 6 years. They've traveled all over Europe, the Caribbean, and the US with me and still look and function as good as new. They are study, compact, and super convenient. I use them all the time to charge various devices and connect older devices and peripherals, and they work perfectly. They easily have another 5-10 years of life.The only con worth calling out now that we're in 2024 is these are USB 3.0, which means they are capped at theoretical maximum of 5 Gbps throughput (likely less). In reality, this is unlikely to affect you unless you are using this to connect to an extremely fast external hard drive.For example, I did a speed test transferring 31 GB (~100 files) between my MacBook Pro M1 Max and my Glyph Atom 1 TB SSD. I tested both with the provided USB-C cable as well as with the provided USB-A cable plugged into this Rankie USB-A to USB-C adapter. In both cases, I reached a consistent ~400/350 MB/s read/write speed (88 seconds to write, 80 seconds to read). In other words, using this adapter did not have any negative impact on my transfer speed. However, if you have an extremely fast external SSD capable of faster than USB 3.0 speeds, this adapter could potentially be a bottleneck.In summary, I am extremely pleased with these and highly recommend them. If Rankie ever offers a newer USB 3.2 or USB 4.0 version of these, I will immediately upgrade.

Update: I stand by my 5-star review! I've used these adapters several times for a few months, and on more than just my printer as initially thought.They are stable when plugged in, I don't fear them disconnecting. Once I thought it wasn't working, but I didn't have them all the way pushed in. The Macbook port is tight, be sure to here the click that they are in.I'm super happy this was a 2-pack, I didn't realize having one at my desk and one mobile would be so handy!Original review: My printer is the only thing I still need a USB connection. These worked without any adjustments to the snap-on cover on my MacBook 2016 with touchbar.Both connectors can be plugged in side-by-side. They fit snug without concern that they will disconnect at either point of connection: adapter to laptop or adapter to USB plug-in.Material feels solid, and I don't worry about throwing it in a bag.

I found these really useful for adapting existing USB 3 technology to newer Usb-C, and they actually work in virtually every use case I tried. Usb C has more pins than USB 3, so I'd expect this to work well with virtually any USB 2 or 3 technology attached to a USB C port.You may run into trouble if you try to go the other way, if you are trying to make a USB C device work in a forward compatible way with a legacy USB 3 port. For example, the Display Port pins on USB C have no equivalent in USB 3, so those pins are probably just left open in the adapter. There's no way to pass them over USB 3.Given the tremendous volume of USB 3 tech in circulation, I suppose these will get some good use.

I picked this up to be able to connect a USB device straight to my Samsung galaxy phone to move files and pictures around easier. With the case on my phone for protection, I didn't have an easy time prior to purchasing this device. I no longer have to remove the case from my phone ! The only issue I have seen or experienced so far is the amount of tightness there is inserting the flash drive into the adapter. It takes a second to insert or remove the flash drive, but I believe it will wear in with time. For safety sake I insert the flash drive into the adapter first, than plug it into my phone. Very convenient and quite handy in my opinion, and would recommend this to anyone looking to do similar transfers with out the hassle of using your data/charging cable.

First, let's get this out of the way: do you really need two USB C/plug to USB A/jack converters? Yes, you do. Even if you only have one device, these are easy to lose and you want a spare.This two pack sells for the same price as one of these at a big box store or even from another well known electronics mail order specialist with generally low pricing. And Amazon's shipping deals are much better. Fine, but then I was expecting cheap plastic and average or worse construction. It isn't like that. These are solid, with a durable feel, and they look slick (if you can say that about an adapter). The plug and jack have a tight fit; nothing is going to fall out. Really a quality product, to my very pleasant surprise.And, of course, they work as expected. Not much to say there except I expect them to last for a long time.Probably until I lose them.

Well it kinda sucks I order this to be able to use my external keyboard and mouse but now i m stuck with just one working adapter. One of the ones that came with packages was damaged and would say that the usb was taking too much power, it would also make the touchbar go blank.Edit [1/21/16]: I contacted their customer service and they are going to be able to send me new USB adapters. I will edit this review and come back to see if they work. For now this deserves 4 stars for their great customer support!Edit[1/30/16]: I just received the new adapters that were sent, and they both work flawlessly. No problems whatsoever! This is a must buy from anyone that needs an adapter! Finish quality of item is a plus, Customer service.. another plus. Overall Totally satisfied with this buy. 10/10 would buy again.

I have the 2020 MacBook Air and it doesn't have any USB-A ports on the laptop , therefore I needed an adaptor to be able to charge my phone at school. I love these! They fit next to each other without any trouble, they aren't flimsy like other adaptors I've seen so I don't expect them to break easy and they are the cheapest option I've seen. I usually read reviews and look for the best price before buying something and I am so glad I got these. They both work at the same time and that was the biggest thing I wanted. It's so worth the $11 and as long as these last awhile (which I'd say they will) I'll definitely buy more if neededUpdate: so after a year of using these consistently, they have finally given out due to the plug in bending. I’m sure it was my fault as I’m not always the most careful when it comes to cords or chargers. For the price, I don’t regret buying and will be purchasing again!

Los pedí para mi ordenador MacBook Pro 16, ya que tiene solo entrada tipo C y es algo fastidioso, pues todavía no hay muchas cosas para este tipo, los pedí para poder contactar los dos a la vez y funcionan muy bien, puedes pondérenlos dos a la vez y convertir el ordenador a usb, calidad aceptable y funcionamiento con Mac sin problemas. El precio excepcional, que yes Apple vende 1 solo convertidor a 25 euros y no son así de compactos. Pediré dos más. (Este es un pack de 2)
