Peaceable Kingdom Gnome Maze Game: Cooperative Maze for Kids, Ages 12+

The boys (6 and 8) played together, supporting each other, and told me they had lots of fun.

This is such a fun and cooperative game, which gets my 6 and 4 to into a collaborative mood and help their relationship themendiously. The cardboard is thick and durable, it's probably best for 6+ age but my 4yo can also play after seeing how it's done. It's not too compliant for kids to figure out

My son is 6 and he is better at this than my wife and I! It took him a couple of goes to get the idea, but after that, he's better at providing the instructions than we are.It is a fun game with some novel problem solving/communication gameplay.The game is to guide the Gnomes, who are connected by their magnet bases, along the vertical maze board to collect the treasures. The maze is different on both sides, so a doorway might appear on one side, but not the other so you need to work together to direct each other to move the Gnomes though the maze. There is a timer element to add pressure and 4 boards of increasing complexity.

My nieces were obsessed with this game immediately. Because we played six times in a row, the game did get a lot easier by the sixth round. I suggested that because we were starting to do so well collecting all items, we might have to challenge ourselves for a faster time! I thought this would be great for the 8 y/o because it requires no reading, but the 10 y/o was even more interested I think than the younger child was. Great way to encourage good communication, as the gnome falls if someone moves the piece while the other person is holding it still. The girls learned to slow down and communicate more deliberately in order to find items with more speed. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Great lesson to learn!

Great for children as they have to work together to win. Our two children love playing it.
