Cartwheel My First Mandarin Words with Gordon & Li Li

Hardcover good quality colorful book, not bad for the price. Contents are easy to understand for non Mandarin speaker who want to learn simple words.

Bought this book for my niece's birthday and am very happy with this purchase. She loves this colorful book with the cute Gordon & Li Li panda characters and enjoys learning the Mandarin as well as English words. The bright colors, cute illustrations, and bold text are perfect for young learners and even parents (who don't know Mandarin yet). I was so satisfied with this book that I decided to check out the author's website for additional products. I ended up purchasing the Gordon & Li Li plushie characters and a t-shirt for my niece and she absolutely LOVES them! She loves reading the book with her plushies. Check it out (gordonandlili.com)!!

Las hojas son gruesas y muy resistentes, los colores son perfectos y a mi hija le encanta.

The illustrations are way too confusing for a baby to learn from. Photos or simple illustrations of the objects would have been better, but instead each illustration has the two cartoon pandas in them. Some are not obvious at all in terms of what it’s trying to depict.

Awesome boardbook for a young child who are very new at learning Mandarin. Pictures are fun and cute, engaging enough for a 3 year old. She loves the pages and learned all the first words in this book quickly! Totally recommend!

This book is great for reading to my son to help him learn some basic Chinese. I tried buying the 3 original books that were out of print. I emailed the author and she replied that after Scholastic acquired the rights to her books, that they combined all 3 into 1 book. It’s a large book, about 8.25” x 9.25”. My favorite sections are the animal and counting sections. Also, what’s more Chinese than pandas and who doesn’t love pandas?
