GStar Money Counter with UV/MG/IR Counterfeit Bill Detection Plus External Display with Warranty, American Brand, American Seller (Rotatable Display Screen)

We purchased one of these for our business primarily for its ability to detect counterfeit bills, and it's very reliable in that regard. While counterfeit bills are a rare occurrence, this counter has saved us at least twice in the two months we've been using it. No more fishing out our wallet at the bank teller to cover faulty bills in the deposit. My only reservation towards this counter involves a suspicious 10 we received, which was flimsy, torn in half, and taped back together. This counter caught it the first time we ran it through the machine, but the detection was inconsistent on subsequent attempts. While the bill failed the UV light test and lacked the glistening gold 10 in the corner, it passed the pen test and had the strip that's supposed to appear under UV light. Some suspicious bills might slip through the cracks for anomalies like this. I've noticed this counter is very accurate compared to our more expensive counter in the office. You can feed this one a slightly misaligned stack of bills and the number will be fine, whereas the other counter has to be triple-checked for inaccuracies.

First off. My partner and myself work 2 separate locations within the same business. We operate Cash only and do not deal with electronic payments. Which means alot of physical cash. We got 2 of these money counters 1 for each location. We were nervous at first about the accuracy of the bill counter especially being this is a cheaper model compared to other high end counters. We were recommended this G-Star unit by a bar tender buddy that swore up and down about the functionality of this counter. We tried one and within 2 weeks we bought the 2nd one. This counter is pretty dead on. I would trust this unti over a heavy- industrial looking model. If you follow the cash loading instructions and dont over fill (maybe 100 bills at a time) this wont jam and with two different units this unti is 98.9% accurate. This thing is amazing and will save you time. The counting and batching (bundling) feature you will speed up and be more accurate then hand counting. [01/13/2019-- Current]

Had this for about a year now, and really like it. It doesn't have a problem with jamming unless the bills are really bad, and it's really fast. I don't know why I didn't buy this years ago. Sure, I would like a few more features, but it works well. It has sensors in the hopper and the tray so it counts intelligntly. If you put some bills in the hopper, then add more bills to the hopper, it will count all of them consecutively. If you empty the tray, then add bills to the hopper, the count restarts. You can also select how many bills you want it to count before stopping so one can laod 100 bills in the hopper and have it count out 25 at a time. This is just really really great for the money.

I bought this counter to use in our high school concession stand after major games with hopes to count the cash faster. Overall it does, but the machine does error alot with the many crumpled bills received from students who have put them God knows where. When counting bills from the bank, it works like a dream. Overall, it has been more accurate than hand counting and that was purpose number two. I have not tried the features of batch counting. After along cold night, everyone wants to be done and I want to head to the bank drop. The holds do get a little touchy when loading, you must follow the directions to load or the bills will not process in the machine. Sometimes a little nudge has to be given to get them going when the process stalls. I am concerned of all the flimsy plastic holding up. I have no place to store the machine so I have to keep it in its box, so inserting and removal often is a must. There really is no easy way to pull it out of the box. I am hoping the machine can sustain the moving around. Overall, it works well for the money paid.

I was really on the fence about buying one of these in this price range but couldn't justify the massive price jump to a different quality. I work at a bar and got this so that management can quickly count the cash from the drawers every night and the bartenders can combine and count all the cash tips for the night. It's a bit bigger and heavier than I expected but that is not really a big deal for us. But it's not really compact or made for travel (if that's what your looking for). The manager has it at on table and counts the drawers and then passes it to the bartenders at a different table to do tips. So it moves around and is a bit cumbersome but we manage and it has stood up to moving around. I'd imagine most use cases for this would be permanently stationary so you'd just have to find a place to put it. It has been used almost every night for the last 3 months and still going strong. It was a little hard to get used to at first because it would jam up kind of frequently because we get a lot of different quality of bills (crumpled, folded, torn, etc). But once you figure out how to properly set the bills in it doesn't jam up as often. AND... even if it does you just pull the bill out and run the batch again. This also has a feature where you can set it to count out an amount. We bundle our $1s in totals of $50. We set it to count out 50 and grab a stack, run it through and it stops at 50! To be positive, we take that 50 and run it through 2 more times to make sure we get the same count (it can be off every now and then). But either way... running a stack through 3 times is still faster and more accurate than manually counting. ANNND... that's just what WE do. You don't have to run it multiple times if you don't want to. This thing has saved us TONS of hours and I love it. Like I said, it can be finicky sometimes. But, at the end of the day, it counts the money accurately and save a ton of time and energy. It has sped up closings at our bar by at least a half hour (and at 3am you want every half hour you can get!). At the time I purchased this, it was just under $100, and at that price the only thing I can say is GET IT! It will make your life easier.

Haven’t had a problem with it yet. I was nervous to buy because of some of the reviews. It is perfect, fast and organized. The instructions were a little confusing but I learned the whole thing in under 10 minutes. I think if you keep it in a cool area, safe surface, you really shouldn’t be having problems unless damages were done by the shipping process or something. I’ve also only had this for about a couple months but I also don’t use it constantly, so maybe that’s why I haven’t had any problems yet. Hope to not have any. Loved that it had a brush to clean it and bands for money.

I have had this for over a year now. I bought it to help me count singles from a fundraising meat raffle. It is accurate and helps making counting large amounts of currency much easier. I like that you can set it to count in stacks of 10, 50, or 100. If you are looking for a quick bill counter, this is the one to get. However, if you are looking for something that gives you a total of all money, then this isn't for you.

Purchased a few years ago, but unit stopped working after using just a few times. Still looks brand new, stored under dust cover when not in use. Stacker vanes (lower tynes that stack bills at the bottom) stopped spinning. Very disappointed. Nice when it worked but awful durability especially for price. BUYER BEWARE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACT INFORMATION IN USER MANUAL. Nor can I find any company info online. I may have just gotten a lemon, but it really stinks to not even be able to contact the manufacturer about clearly defective product. I would recommend purchasing a different machine, hopefully product with better support.

I have attached the receipt that I have paid to send back the package. Also I was wondering if is possible to have back another working one and maybe if I add some extra money to the receipt so I can get the second one!
