Exactly what I needed. I was able to rehair my bow. The sound is warm. I’m grateful.

I haired a nyckelharpa bow with this product, and I am quite satisfied. It only took a couple of hours of "silent sawing" on the instrument before the hair began to produce sound. It is still soaking up the rosin, and is sounding better al the time. Good tone! It comes rolled in a wreath, with the head secured by a knot and superglue. I tied a new knot, and cut the glued portion off. This may affect your length requirements by an inch. The rolling makes it unruly to deal with until soaked in water and combed. I ordered another couple of hanks.

So brittle you can't even tye a knot hard to use as fish line if it breaks just trying to tye

Looked for a cheap horse hair to repair my 9 year olds bow, and I found it here, This is sold in two hanks, and one really needs both to finish a 4/4 bow. Fragmented and not securely bond, with a free end that simply curls. This is going to take some extra effort to re-hair his bow on my part. BTW: This kid is into the "Two Cello's" and plays along, so he rips hair off of his bow like it's supposed to be a natural occurrence. That is the reason I went 'cheap', ... I'll do with it what I can, ... the bow however was new on the week of March 12, 2025, ... it already needs to be re-haired. "Grandpa, ... I don't have any hair left on my bow". But he plays it anyway! Perhaps my next purchase should be a bundle of .25 pound?
