Will this protect a dining table from grease stains as well?

I don't know for sure, but it certainly protects against water and other liquids so would think grease. Not hot grease, nothing much will really protect against that. The other comment about the wax washing off, well I've never had that problem and I only put 2 coats on a huge bookcase and a window frame.

Is this a good cover for old scratched furniture?

Not the clear. Use a shade of briwax that matches your furniture. I love briwax , but Old English or Restore-a-finish is better for scratch cover.

Can I used this on lacquer finished furniture?

Don’t know. Don’t think it would harm the furniture but don’t know how much good would do. I have usually used on old wood and antique things where it leaves a beautiful, clean satin like finish. I use with the ultra fine sandpaper with good results.

Does this work to seal steel/metal?

According to their website: "Use BRIWAX on all woods, untreated leather, marble, concrete, metal and painted surfaces." So, yes, it should work find for that application.
