AR6500 Diesel Treatment (40 oz) Two Pack - Treats 800 Gallons, Diesel Fuel Additive - Lubricity Improver, Injector Cleaner, DPF & Turbo Deposit Control, Cetane Booster

I currently own 3 BMW M57 powered vehicles, previously owned another 335d I sold a couple years ago, and owned two Jetta Sportwagons before 2015. The smaller diesel engines (3.0 and smaller) really advertise how bad diesel fuel is in the U.S., and unfortunately demonstrate how important it is to use diesel fuel additives. I have tried all the major brands over the years but settled on Archoil’s line of products due to the performance, consistency and reliable effects Archoil provides. I have also learned over the years that too much application can defeat some of the benefits, so it’s important to experiment between the 1-2 dose range to see where your vehicle is happiest. I think it’s important to understand that periodic application of either AR6400-D or Techron D helps the “daily” AR6500 keep things clean. Over time the AR6500 can’t keep the buildup away and your vehicle needs a higher dose of PEAs (PolyEtherAmines) without excessive application of other components in a product like AR6500 that can actually work against cleaning the injectors at higher doses. I tried using above the 2X dose level and at 3X the dose - performance, power and mileage really take a hit. This is even more true with the winter blend - don’t over-dose. In the winter I typically found a 50/50 mix of 0.75 dose of the normal blend and 0.75 dose of the winter blend covers 85-95% of winter driving conditions I experience. I shift towards 100% winter blend when temps drop below freezing. Technique only, but it works for my vehicles. My procedure for supplemental cleaning is I reduce my AR6500 application for a full tank while adding the AR6400-D or Techron D. I normally use somewhere between one and two doses of the AR6500 (non-cleaning cycle), but reduce the AR6500 dose to slightly below 1 dose while using a full bottle of the AR6400-D or Techron-D and run that tank as low as possible. I may do that for two tanks if I feel the vehicle needs an industrial strength cleaning. Both of those products do a great job of supplemental cleaning - with the Archoil AR6400-d subjectivity doing maybe slightly better. It’s hard to quantify their performance other than how much performance returns after treatment - and if that treatment happens during a seasonal temperature transition, then the improvement may be masked or exaggerated depending on the season you’re transitioning into. I use whichever is cheaper and/or what I have on hand. They both work. I have also played around with mixing Archoil with a dedicated lubricity additive in the hot summer months due to increased fuel temps and lower fuel viscosity and had some positive results. I do not recommend that for colder weather. Overall a great product. Any good additive is absolutely necessary for diesel engine longevity using U.S. diesel fuel. For note, I have used this product with diesel generators running JP8, JP5 and Jet A-1, with the latter needing higher doses and additional lubricity additives to keep everything happy. There is a noticeable improvement in performance in those applications as well.

I suspect my Audi 3.0 TDI had a clogged cat some 5 years after a DPF delete back in 2019. MPG was down and it felt like it was also down on power. Sometimes the "Italian Tune-up" (high rev driving) would briefly help by blowing a lot of crap out the back, but it would go back to reduced after a day or two. I had been using the Hotshots Every Day in each fill-up, which may have slowed this issue down but it still happened. I also tried Opti-Lube XPD for a few months. Not much, if any, improvement. I do suspect they helped improve cetane values, but idk what else. If I had a good run, I was getting ~560 miles per tank. After some YouTube videos, I decided to try Archoil. I didn't notice anything for a couple fill-ups, but after about 1-1.5 months, I started to notice some slight improvements in mileage to/from work and some other trips. It was getting hard to hit 30 mpg on the way to work, whereas I started hitting 31-32, even with significant traffic. After 2 months, there has been a definite improvement. I'm currently seeing 33+ mpg on the way to work (same conditions as before) and reaching closer to the 38 mpg EPA advertised on my way home. I've also hit 42 mpg coming home from a friends' house, whereas before it was struggling to hit 39. Power feels like it has returned to expected levels compared to the previous treatments. My range is now reporting >600 miles per tank, even dealing with some stop and go traffic. For the results, price, and ease of applying into the tank, I highly recommend using it and I intend to continue using this from hereon out.

This is the best diesel fuel additive by far. Works exactly how they say it will an does so in really a couple tanks you see the difference.

My husband swears by this stuff! He uses Archoil AR6500 every time he fills up his truck, and he’s been really happy with it. A little goes a long way, and the 40 oz bottle lasts him quite a while since it treats so many gallons of diesel. It’s easy to use, convenient to keep in the truck, and gives him peace of mind knowing he’s helping keep the fuel system and injectors clean. Definitely a product he keeps coming back to!

I do not have a photo for this one, and usually do, but the item is just as the description states. I have purchased this at least five times in the last year. The only thing I would like more out of these purchases is that it would ship faster. But that’s ok. I’m just getting used to next day receiving the item and that does not always happen.

Archoil makes such a difference on how my Hino 338 with Hino engine works. It's noticeably smoother acceleration, easier starts and less regens per week. You can definitely feel a minor power increase and 1-3 MPG better fuel mileage. GREAT PRODUCT
