the trick is giving it a flat surface to support it. I have a office chair the seat of which curves down in the middle by filling that space with a small old worn pillow it works much better and has held it shape with out any sign of collapsing. I would suggest a hard non-flexible seat cushion or padded board to put the Kabooti on top of for a wheel chair because of the inward sag of the seat would tend to defeat the opening for the coxes, but only if he is alert and steady.

need to know if it will flatten out when 249lb man sits on?

I have a related question. I'm considering purchasing this cushion to compensate for a chair that's a bit too short. It would be great to be able to sit 1 or 2 inches taller with this cushion--is that realistic? I'm a 190 lb man.
