Great!
This battery charger is a must have for emergency situations! Although it's not practical to charge d cell batteries, left to itself it will take about a week to get one done. However the USB port can be used to charge a cell phone.

Overpriced junk
The unit has no indicator light so you cannot determine if it is charging or when the batteries are full. I am suspect to charge my mobile phone it may not have any over charge protection, This thing is junk! And I paid extra thinking I'd get what i paid for $55 including shipping, I wouldn't buy it from a dollar store.

Good but weak.
This is a great idea but it should have more solar panel power, could take weeks to charge a 10,000 milliamp hour D cell size battery. You do the math max current is 180 mA,(in full sun) 10000 divided by 180 equals ? That's right 55 and a half hours. That's how many days of sun? But in todays world this is better than not having, every house should have at least something like this.

Great product for emergency
I bought this a year back for my summer fieldwork in a remote hilly part of Asia. I was using rechargeable batteries to power my flashlight and run my camera and digital recorder. The charging is slow but works; that's nothing short of miracle in places where there are no sources of electricity. I lost my phone charger so I cannot comment about that function. In my area, there was no (cell) phone reception so I didn't miss that much. A must for those traveling around the world.

Works well
Seems to recharge batteries well. I wish the cord had some more modern connections, such as a USB connection. If it did, I would have given this 5 stars rather than 4. Otherwise, no complaints. Product works as described.

Right out of the box!
The box had all the directions for use. It's simple! Right out of the box I put 4 (of the same cell size & rechargeable batteries- duh) in my window & in an hour or so they were ready. With a little looking I found some other cords and adapters from other appliances and I was able to figure out how to charge my phone, tablet and iPod. Great product & it arrived at my doorstep extremely quick!
