Great Espresso Bean!
The media could not be loaded. WOW! If you like Espresso that hits like a Mike Tyson uppercut, this is the bean for you dang. Sweet, and powerful just like my grandmother. NO really this bean is great, I like to roast it until 2nd crack and go for another 1:30 nice dark bean that gets very oily. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Love it
I've been into roasting on and of for over 10 years, for the last couple years I may have only bought pre-roasted coffee once. I use a Behmor 1600 drum roaster, which I can get the perfect roast with. I tend to prefer a medium or light-medium roast with most beans, I dont care for the bitterness of dark roasts. I've always tended to prefer beans from Latin American origins, and these beans are great. I've ordered from Smokin Beans multiple times always fast shipping, good prices and consistent quality.

Not bad for the average coffee drinker
Homeroaster of 2 years here. I have only purchased from one other vendor and those beans were top quality grade a with zero blemished beans that i noticed out of 25 lbs. I was a little hesitant after reading a few reviews but these are pretty decent beans after all. There are a couple blemished beans here and there, approx 5-10 per 8oz. Imo this is a non issue. These beans were smaller overall than from my other vendor, nonetheless they are pretty uniform and so roast evenly for me in my hand crank stir pop. The burlap bag is cool too. If you're not a stuck up coffee snob who must have absolutely perfect beans, these are great! Happy roasting!

Exceptionally high quality beans that roast up nicely giving off a wonderful aroma when brewing that wakes ...
I have purchased several pounds of unroasted whole bean coffee from different amazon venders. I will definitely not make the same mistake again. Next time I purchase I will buy the 10 lbs. I was sceptical at first purchasing from Smokin Beans but then I received my 5 lbs of Peru coffee in the brown burlap sack and boy oh boy what a pleasant surprise. Exceptionally high quality beans that roast up nicely giving off a wonderful aroma when brewing that wakes up the whole house. 5-pounds - Peru -VillaRica - Green Unroasted Whole Coffee Beans - In a Burlap Bag - For Home Coffee Roasters - by Smokin' Beans Coffee Co.

Good for dark roast
It's ok. I tried going medium roast with one of my batches for maybe more flavor but nope. It was just ok for me.

It's old, stale coffee. Just compare what you receive to the beans pictured on the product page.
This is my first ever time roasting coffee and have done probably about 10x100g batches with this bag. The more I learned from reading and researching online the more suspicious of these beans I became. My roasted beans came out in wildly varying. A no-brainer occurred to me and I simply looked at my beans and compared them to the image on the product page. They do not look anywhere near the same. I got the Northern Italian espresso blend. The beans are very dehydrated and brittle.I got the bag in January 2024, the harvest date on the bag is simply listed as 2023. Not which month or day. Just the year. This roast date was not printed on the label, it was stamped onto the bag itself. The label itself doesn't exactly look professionally printed, which is fine, but this would lead me to assume this company is printing its labels which would make it easy to enter current dates onto the label itself and give a little bit more information on the harvest date other than just the year. I think what they are doing is keeping the harvest date intentionally vague and hand-stamping it onto bags filled with old, expired coffee that they probably get for a tiny fraction of the price which they're selling it for.I ordered some raw beans from a specialty coffee shop in Seattle that I trust. It's also a northern Italian espresso blend. I will compare their appearance and my results roasting them and come back to update my review. Sure enough, the fresh beans from Espresso Vivace look and smell entirely different than this brand. This leads me to believe that this company knows exactly what they are doing and thus acts unscrupulously by selling old expired beans for profit. I doubt that they are even specialty grade to be perfectly honest. They should be investigated. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Excellent beans
I am a beginner home roaster, these are the best beans I have had so far. They have an excellent flavor. they doubled in size when I roasted them they are very fresh and aromatic. They make a smooth cup of coffee, they will be my go to beans in the future.
