Roman Holy Family Three Kings and Shepherd Christmas Nativity Nesting Dolls Set of 9

This is a unique little nativity and I think my 9 year old granddaughter will love it. It is not intended as a toy but seems sturdy enough for an older child to play with and enjoy. I did have to return the first set I received - it was missing the Baby Jesus and the distributor would not just send the missing piece; I had to package up the entire set and return it to Amazon for a replacement. Both the first set and the replacement have some minor issues - fine lines almost like pencil tracings in the paint, which is unfortunately fairly noticeable on the faces, irregularities in the thickness of the rims where the pieces nest together so there is some wobbling, places where the paint on the top and bottom of the figures is a different shade. These do not significantly detract from the overall charm of the set. I do wish it was better packaged. There is an outer cardboard box that looked like it had been re-taped multiple times, with old dry tape under newer layers that criss-crossed all over the box. There is also an inner Styrofoam box with depressions for the figures. The Styrofoam is extremely thin and dry so that when I unpacked the pieces, the foam just crumbled apart. I will have to find some way to repackage it for gifting. Since most people do not leave Nativities out all year, it would be nice if this came in a protective box that could be used for storage.

Not as advertised. They don't beat together. And they are painted two different colors. Tops are darker than the bottom pieces. Nothing aligns when you put them together, so you have to put the pieces askew to make the pictures align.

I was really disappointed that this item has a label that it contains cancer causing materials. I can't understand why we are still accepting items from China with materials that are obviously not acceptable. Not only that there wasn't any notice of this when I ordered them. They showed up with a little tiny sticker on one of the figures I'd like to know what's in them that is cancer causing. I also expected to see the Baby Jesus included with the set. After all isn't that the purpose of this group?

This set exceeded my expectations! Each piece is beautifully finished. They are quite heavy, as well, which I like. My two-year old grandson loves nesting the pieces back inside each other and then taking them out again. I like the fact that they don't look like a toy, though. They don't look or feel cheaply made. I am thinking about buying a set for my newly married daughter.

I got this for my mom for Christmas and she loved it! It comes in a set of three, the package could have probably been better and I saw the reviews were mixed so I watched her open it to make sure it was alright. Everything shut and closed properly, we loved it! It made the perfect gift!
