Lang Tools 87 Heavy Duty Pliers with Tip Kit, One Size

I got this to install a 185mm (a little larger than 7") x 4mm internal circlip. Pushing the tommy bar as hard as you would like to, it had no problem compressing it fully. As opposed to pliers, you don't have the distraction of compressing the circlip while installing, which appreciated greatly. I tried it out on some smaller circlips and it seemed to work fine at 1.5". Probably would be good for a bit less than that even. Removing is the same as any other set of pliers: if you're removing from a flush surface you'll need a knife or screwdriver to push the circlip into the tongs a bit or it'll just snap out.

Works great

This tool will help to easily remove your snap ring safely. It will not fit small snap rings unless you make them adapt but works great on larger ones. Very sturdy and will last a long time.

The device works well and makes changing out large 1.5”, 2”, 2.5” very easy to remove and install. I have not used it on larger clips yet. A decent tool that works as stated.
