Surprisingly Good!
Very surprised at how easy to use. Didnโt taste too much as I used in smoothies but I liked the richness. Also used to make homemade oat milk. Would prefer to know what percentage of product is organic, if itโs organic.

Great for gluten-free baking
Almost every evening, I bake myself a somewhat healthy cookie treat (2-4 cookies), drawing from whatever items I have on hand. I started this habit living by myself during the pandemic, as something fun to do and a way to treat myself.I do not need to eat gluten-free, but I like using Namaste foods gluten-free mixes, and then I add some almond flour, oatmeal, and usually, a little canned pumpkin. I tried using this oat powder for a smoother cookie, and adding a little sprinkle on top. This powder worked great! I want to add, though, that the nutritional info on my package is very different than the info currently posted in the product description. For example, the fiber content is 11% of the RDA per serving (5 grams) on the product description, but only 2% on my bag. Also, importantly for me, the iron content is 6% of the RDA on the production description, but only 1% on my bag. So, I think that this needs to be corrected. I do often base my choices on nutritional content, and iron content is something I was hoping to get from this product.

Versatile product. Too Expensive!
This is an interesting and versatile product that is priced a bit high for just 5 Ounces! I used half as a binder in meatless burgers and the remainder in meatloaf. It's too bad it is too expensive to keep on hand in this packaging because it is an excellent addition to any number of foods.I would have liked to have enough to use in biscuits or pancakes because I believe it would enhance these foods.

Good quality, but not as coarse as I would have liked; pricey
This is sort of midway between oat flour and whole oats. It's ground, but not to the level of flour. As such, it's great for uses such as top dressing breads/muffins, or as a topping/mix in when you want the benefits of oats but don't want the coarseness of a whole oat.I would have liked if the grind level was a bit more on the coarse side. This is certainly more coarse than oat flour, but it's a little too fine for me. I use this mostly as a top dressing for breads and muffins and, while it's workable, it's just a bit too powdery for optimum results. It comes in a sturdy resealable pouch. It can be a bit fumbly to spoon it out of the pouch, so I put it into a plastic container for storage. That's more of an issue due to my less than coordinated hands rather than an actual fault with the pouch. It has a fresh scent, and a decent shelf life (the pouch I received in July 2021 has a best by date of June 2022). It is a product of the USA.It is also rather pricey for such a small (5 oz) bag considering it's just oats. One star down for value and the finer than expected grind level, but otherwise a handy option to have for baking.

Great stuff
This is a wonderful, nutritionally dense product that is excellent in baking! I normally just run oatmeal through a food processor and use that, but this seems a bit better quality and has just the right texture for baked goods. It comes well sealed and is very fresh, just wish there was more in a package.

very versatile!
I received the Rainforest Supply | Coarse Oat Powder 5 oz in exchange for this review. Oats and the fiber they provide, are a great addition to your diet, but plain oatmeal can get boring. This coarse powder is made from whole oats, so you get the benefits, but it can be easily mixed into so many things. I have used it as part of the flour in a multi-grain bread (added a nice nutty flavor and looked pretty as a sprinkled on topper on the loaves) mixed it into smoothies (Added a richness to the flavor without tasting like I was drinking oatmeal) I have even mixed a spoonful into a yogurt parfait and it tasted great (Sort of like overnight oats) I would say this is a great addition to any pantry.

Simple single source product - raw oats -- that are grown and packaged in the USA
Simple product with just one ingredient - raw oats. Perfect! The oats are ground coarsely (as expected) and have no unusual taste, smell or texture. The oats are packaged well with transparent window and resealable bag. The label provides all the necessary information I would expect - country of origin, lot number (manufacturing date), expiration date, ingredient list, and nutrition label. Everything is there and easy to read. Best part -- the oats are sourced from the US, packaged in the US and distributed from a US company. Five stars.

Beautiful on bread
This looks really pretty sprinkled onto my bread. I like that it adds a bit of fiber and nutrition too. I've tried it two ways, sprinkled over an egg white wash, and also sprinkled on the bread after it's buttered. Putting it on after it is baked, works great for yeast rolls. If I'm going to add seeds as well as the oat powder, I like to sprinkle it on before it's cooked. It makes bread look really special, and more like a bakery treat. My old powder arrived fresh and well sealed. It came in an envelope with a press to lock strip, but I find it hard to use in the bag so I transferred it to a airtight container. It's much easier to sprinkle from a regular container, though I think the envelope would be fine if you're going to mix it into a smoothie. It takes a lot like oatmeal. It's convenient, but I don't know that I would buy it again because I can easily just make my own since I have a mill. At the current price point I think it's a great introduction to working with oat powder, but I do find it too expensive to regularly want to buy this way.
