E6000 has worked quite well on most materials, but it may not adhere to the metal well. Make sure you give it time to THOROUGHLY dry since I suspect you will use a generous amount for a 10 pound weight.

can i use this similar to shoe goo? i just want to put a layer on the bottom to fix it? thanks

It should work, but allow ample time for the glue to set. Applying a strap or clamp may help while it cures

It is a thick consistency; and not fluid

Will this glue hold a strap on a faux leather handbag?

I would want to say yes but not 100%. Takes a few hours to dry so it needs to be clamped together for a while.
