Does this product get flaky or leave a white residue? The product the hairdresser uses gets flaky after 30 min so it looks terrible.

Have never noticed any on our daughters hair been using it for her since she was 2 she is now almost 5 this is kinda like putting on leave in conditioner leaves her hair feeling really soft but all hair is a bit different I’m assuming they used gel like product cause I’ve never even seen flakes on her fathers hair and he’s been using adult Cantu leave in conditioner for a while & use too use gel and some gels would cause flakes or residue hope this helps

What is the difference between the custard and the curling cream?

The custard is way for lightweight and nice for shine the cream is super thick and better for thicker or coarser hair. My kids are mixed and I had both both most use the custard with thin, mixed curls or light frizz the custard is much better I think and can harden or bulk up/flake off on hair too thin or not coarse enough for it.

Can i use on 5 month old?

I used on my 9 month old. And he was fine. I would read the ingredients though because when they are that young the skin is sensitive and scalp💖
