The soil moisture meter is suitable for most soils, but not for soils that are too hard, and soils with a high content of fluffy material such as sand or coconut husk, which can cause inaccurate readings. Therefore, please check the properties of your soil.

Question 2

What level should I keep a snake plant at? Everywhere is saying a 1 but I'm not sure about that.

Accepted Answer

Snake plants can easily tolerate very dry conditions... but they are not a Cactus.  I would water only when it indicates the soil is DRY.  Note that having good soil in your plant pots means that water runs Thru it and does not "sit" or create very wet soil for the plant.  You are giving it a drink; you are Not creating a Wet-Soil environment, in other words.

Question 3

The product desc says it reads the humidity in 10 seconds while the demo video shows 2-3 minutes. Which is correct?

I don't see a humidity indication on mine- just dry, moist and wet for the soil.  It reads the soil wetness in 1 few seconds.

Question 4

For st. Augustine sod, how deep should probe be and what’s a good measurement? I think I’m over watering

Accepted Answer

St. Augustine grass is a coarse grass native to the tropics and will therefore be relatively drought tolerant. You can wait until the pointer reaches the range of 3-4 before watering. Try not to water during the high temperature at noon, but choose to water in the evening, so that the roots will not die easily. Watering should penetrate below the root system, do not have standing water on the lawn surface and pay attention to ventilation. Usually the probe will be inserted 2-4 inches, you can decide depending on the lawn.
